A public address announcer is to NEVER offer his opinion over the air, particularly if it's negative, criticle talk. A PA is just to give the facts.

Now us broadcasters, we can be a little biased sometimes but that comes with being a home broadcast. ;) ;D

Does everyone remember the game last year at Vidor?

There was a play at second base that Vidor fans thought was a terrible call. The aftermath of the call was a coach getting ejected, Green getting confined to the dugout, the announcer being bashed by the Nederland fans and the guy working the clock being censored by the district.  Well the tables are turned, the police had to escort the umpires off the field last night because several Nederland fans threading the home plate umpire and a guy who we all know has a player on the Nederland team telling the home plate umpire that he was going to wait for him in the parking lot.

WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE OVER HOW SOME OF THE NEDERLAND FAN ACTED LAST NIGHT?
If the Ned fans were mad... I wouldn't know about what? The plate umps strike zone was tight but it was tight for both teams..The only bad calls I saw both went against Vidor....The force out at 2nd early in the game and the foul tip on the 3rd strike that the plate ump didn't here but everyone else did. I did not see any irrate Ned fans after the game.
wow...took the words right outta my mouth. that was my exact interpretation of the game. i was a little irate about those two calls and at the time smith was making our kids look pretty bad at the plate. it seemed as if vidor was getting the raw end of the deal on ball and strike calls, but armstrong just wasn't as precise with his pitches. (couldn't get his curve ball up) of course there was some jawing during the 7 run inning from nederland fans, but nothing that i saw that was out of line. btw, i watched the bottom of the 4th while standing between the visitors bleachers as i was working my way out to get my kid home. also, i'm a little confused about the "guy working the clock" comment.

Was the foul tip on the third strike that you refer to caught by the catcher or missed by the catcher?
