I don't believe coaches take a job thinking "once I do well here, I'll be gone in 3 years." The hardest part is doing well. Just ask Roc.

Why are we worried about a coach leaving when we haven't had a good one in 20 years??

[/quote]Half the people on this board were worrying about someone stealing Roc away before he had ever coached one game.  They will hire the best coach they can and worry about him leaving when the time comes.

Lamar is a "small" mid major ! The big name "proven" asst. have been here from NC State to Marquette to Memphis and none worked out! You will only build a program to be able to compete with the majors by taking chances and risk ! Same is going to apply to coaching. Sorry not going to get caliapara, phelps, Kryzeski or whoever ! If you did they would struggle anyway!

Sorry I just have this feeling about cross! I think this guy has something special ! Yes it is a jump up to D1, but we havent played D1 yet anyway!

Mind if I ask what your reasoning is?  He has won everywhere he has been, unlike most of the other applicants.  And I'm thinking he must be able to recruit to get the caliber of athlete he has at LSCPA.

The coach (name?) at the Oklahoma D- 2 school would be a good consideration. He's won at all levels he coached. He obviously would be recruiting the same caliber of players Lamar has been recruiting and turn them into winners.

She's more pleasant than any of these gentlemen we are considering!  She's a firebrand and a tough competitor, and I still remember her in her playing days at LaTech with that long blond poneytail.  Call me what you want but she still aint half bad looking for a women of her age.

Don Bubba Skelton is the bet guy for this LU job, and if Lamar don't hire him, we are sure going to see some loosing seasons ahead of the program, look at the players he brought in when he was at Lamar , and he baby sat Roc when he won in 2008, well enough said!

Skelton has local D1 experience which in addition to his great track record at the JUCO level is why I have him atop my list.
Evans has a long history of winning and some D1 experience so I'd have him second on my list
Cross has produced in short stints. The only negatives on him are he hasn't been anywhere long term (he hasn't won at the same place over and over) of course his age has alot to do with that and the other is no D1 experience. I'd love to see him on the LU bench in charge of a defense learning how the NCAA works and possibly taking over 4 or 5 years down the road when the next guy moves on! Could set LU up for 8-10 years.

Most coaches moving up are on average at each school for 4 to 5 years. This prooves that they can sustain the program. Cross hasn't been at any of the three schools for more than two seasons if I am correct??
