BRIDGE CITY — While the West Orange-Stark boys continue to show how dominant they can be heading towards the District 21-3A Meet and on ahead, the Barbers Hill girls showed true dominance as both squads dominated the action at the Cardinal Relays held Saturday at Bridge City High School.

The Mustangs, dominated all of the sprints and the relays, won the Boys Division with 185 points followed by the host Cardinals (134) and Barbers Hill (132).

Meanwhile, the Lady Eagles stormed to the Girls Division with an astonishing 317 points. WO-S was a distant second (86) and the host Lady Cardinals (81) placed third.

For the Mustang boys, Justin Thomas set a new area-best in the 100 meters, winning it in 10.39 seconds. He also racked up a win in the 200 with a 21.91 clocking.

The Mustangs also received first-place finishes from Phillip Jones in the 110 hurdles (14.25), and Colin Janice in the 400 (51.77).

Orangefield received a first-place effort from Logan Moss, who won the discus with a toss of 134 feet.

Barbers Hill ruled almost all of the events on the girls’’ side of the ledger but there were a few Orange County breakthroughs.
