Caught some nice trout and reds in the lake yesterday (Fri), but the morning wind made it tough.  9 specs and 4 reds. ( 2 keeper reds at same time.  I love doing that)

Nice fish Mat.  Thanks for the report.  Ya know,  I don't really care to eat redish.  I like catching them, but when I catch a bunch of big ones,  I usually move.  Don't wanna kill a bunch for no reason.
I wish the wind would lay so I could go get some trout tho.

A couple of decent cold fronts come in and it will lay down for more than 4 hours.

Fished the north end of the lake today with a friend and did well. Trout up to 24". We threw plenty of keepers back.

i have some buddies that have gone out 5 or 6 times in the last couple of weeks and have limited out every time in a pretty short amount of time.  my buddy's buddy's girlfriend caught a 27 1/2 inch trout that went 7 lbs.

Time for the big sows is coming up and like you said, maybe they aren't going to leave. They might just be hitting the deep water when it is getting cold.

went today,  and three of us kept 5 specks and 5 sandies after fishing about 3 1/2 hours.  not a great day, but at least we didn't get shut out.  there were a lot of idiots out, and one boat in particular cut us off 3 separate times when we were drift fishing, and also nailed us with a wake twice.  during one stretch where they were way to close, i caught 21, 20, and 19 inch trout in about 10 minutes.  i made sure to play the fish around the side of the boat to make sure they could see them, because they weren't catching crap :)

Yep, winter weather doesn't keep the nuts in. The fact that I made a trip to Searim yesterday is proof of that. :D  I didn't do any good nad the fog was terrible

A friend and I kept two limits of specs to 23" and turned back about that many more in the Neches river Sunday morning by noon. Only a couple of those were under 16". We have not seen the big girls this year. Last year 20" and over were common.
