westend1 Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 Killed em again last night. probably 30 reds, and a few specks, in about 2 hours.

Hard to really tell from the pic, but I believe it was around 24-25"

westend1 Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 Don't like my "new" boat. 20 ft aluminum cc with 115 Merc 4 stroke. Rides too rough. Great in shallow water with the tunnel hull, but I don't get shallow that often. Going today to look at a 24 1/2 ft SeaChaser. Anybody have any experience with SeaChaser? Made by Carolina Skiff.

Of course the flyrod didn't hurt that day either. ;D

We fished off the Humphrey pier for 6 hrs on 7/31 for 6 hrs from 9 till 3 am and caught nothing using rattle traps live shrimp, mullet, shad, and croakers. we didn't catch enough to make decent gravy. Tide was moving out and then it got still and started back in.

It started to slow down Saturday and the last couple of nights have been slow(I wasn't there but that is what I am told). My son went last night to a different pier, but since they got in at 3 a.m., I don't know how they did.We caught fish on everything we threw. Rattletraps seemed best, but it didn't really matter when the were boiling the water for 1/2 an acre in front of the pier.We thought that was a rattler when we ran over it. turns out, it was a bull snake. Really hated to kill it once I found out what it was.
tvc184 Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 I used to have an invite to one of those docks from a PA insurance agent that I helped out before. Then Rita hit............... I am sure that it is built back but I haven't talked to him since then.

We're rookies in the grand scheme of things but my 14 yr old loves to fish biting or not. I might try the spoon with a trailer suggested by i think 'liltex' Pray for our success.

It is much quieter than my 4 stroke Mercury. A few cosmetic issues but I think i am going to pull the trigger. Anybody need a 20 ft aluminum cc?
tvc184 Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 That is probably too big for my Hyundai Sonata to tow.

bullets13 Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 we also had a 14 inch trout get eaten by a 5-foot bull shark about 5 feet from the boat, and he managed to hook himself. my buddy fought him for half an hour and i got some video of him up to the boat before he broke off.
