texans Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 In the last 10 years. PNG-3 WOS-3 Central-2 Ned-1 Ozen-1 People should get off of Burnett from PNG wanting him fired, that is ridiculous. PS Dayton has won 7 counting this year but I know we were in a week district so we dont count.
tvc184 Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Nederland only has 1??? They have tied for first place a couple of times but lost in head to head competition, so they could not be declared district champs. With the three playoff system, that is a pride issue only since both schools advance. Nederland has made the playoffs year after year, just not as the district champion (although a few times they were the "Big School Champ").
WOS87 Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 1961 was the last time Nederland went untied and undefeated in district play but they have still made the playoffs 15 times since then. Nederland went untied and undefeated in district 8 out of 9 seasons from 1953-1961 and had a 40 game unbeaten streak in district games going 38-0-2 from 1952-1961 (they missed out on the title in 1960 going 3-0-2 in district play because Huntsville went 4-0-1). They haven't been able to go undefeated and untied through a district schedule since.
Zoneblock Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 I saw on the PNG website some of the PNG faithful are after Coach Burnett. Maybe old Matt Burnett needs to go This saturday morning and throw rocks at them while their picking up trash on the side of the road. Let them see what it feels like. What abunch of tools. I wonder where the PNG faithful got the idea that they are some kind of power house. Good team yes year in and out but not state contender every year.

NHSBulldogFan Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Nederland several times have been co-champions however under the old playoff sytem (only the district champs go to the playoffs) we would only have 1 playoff appearance and that would be 2004
-Central_Jaguars Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 You guys are adding Central in something they only been in for 5 years and you going back 10, and since being in 4a they have only 1 district title.
