Baseballman57 Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 I was sitting at my house watching the news and I saw 3 young men sign to a division 1 program on the same day?! Nick Christopher (Pitcher) - Lamar Very good program. Tim Ferguson (INF) - Ole Miss Top 10 team in the country David Murphy (INF)- U of H Top 25 team in the country Not to mention Murphy and Ferguson both attend West Brook. (Does this mean a big year from the brook?) I also have seen that Jake Rowell signed to McNees. (Another D1) Johnny Dishon has signed at LSU. (Another powerhouse D1 team) Braeden Riley to Sam Houston. (Division 1) How can you get a better class than that? Is there anyone else from this class in the area that will sign D1?
adminbaberuth Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 2007-Most talented class ever? That would be a stretch. I can think back when we had 4, 1st round draft choices, 3 in the same district, and they all are still playing. Brian Sanches...Nederland John Patterson......WOS Beau Hale.......LCM Chip Ambres...WB
MIF04 Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 Granted I may be biased in favor of the '07 group, but the '06 had a lot of talent. Hell, the '06 LCM team alone was talented....
Baseballman57 Posted November 9, 2006 Author Report Posted November 9, 2006 Oh ok I was just astonished by this...I'm new at the whole recruiting thing and thought that was a big deal, but once again are there anymore players with a chance to sign to a D1 from this class?
MIF04 Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 No, it is a big deal. There are a # of kids who have signed with top notch programs: Jeff Stringer signed with Lamar. Jake Rowell with McNeese. Braden Rile with Sam Houston. All good, solid local schools. Tim Ferguson (Mississippi), David Murphy (Houston) and Johnny Dishon (LSU) all signed with recognized national programs. It is impressive but there have been a lot of good baseball classes come out of SE Texas. I would look for more to get D1 offers including Bobby Armstrong (West Brook) and Mark Serna (West Brook). Armstrong is still considering offers while Serna may wait until after he has recovered from off-season ankle surgery.
Baseballman57 Posted November 10, 2006 Author Report Posted November 10, 2006 Oh, ok I understand. Sounds like you know quite a bit of baseball. And where are the Armstrong and Serna boys from?
GoldGlove Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 Hale - class of 97 Ambres - class of 98 Patterson - 95 (I think) Sanches - 96 (I think) I know they were not all the same graduating class.
MIF04 Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 How about the 2005 class from West Brook alone? Jay Bruce (1st round, 12th overall) to Red James Ewing -- fresh. All American @ Arkansas Michael Ewing -- fresh All American @ So. Miss.
practiceskipper Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 i personally think 08' is gonna possibly do better
MIF04 Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 I'm not sure I agree with that...but they're young and a lot will be known after this Spring. There is some talent there. I do agree with that.
