KingSnake Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Lamar looks feeble in loss of first game of the weekend, losing 7-1, following a less than steller performance against Rice Tuesday. Poor hitting doomed them. Looks like it could be a long weekend. This weekend should confirm that they are at best a middle of the pack team in the SLC again this year. And if Harrington is out for the remainder of the season....well, it doesn't look good.
geezer Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Had plenty of oppurtunities but left runners on first and second at least three times
ForeverADog Posted March 26, 2011 Report Posted March 26, 2011 Lamar wins game 2! 7-6. Great job banging out 15 hits. And great job by Shane Hamaker pitching the last couple innings.
KingSnake Posted March 26, 2011 Author Report Posted March 26, 2011 It looked tough early on with 4 inning-ending double plays in the first 5 innings, but they hung in and scratched out a nice win. Congrats Cards. Let's see what Sunday brings.
ForeverADog Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 My guess is Jeff Abt. If not him then DD Lott.
ForeverADog Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Lamar trailed 3-1 going into the 9th and lost 9-5.
Guest baseball25 Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 Dang that sucks, I thought they might could win this series being at home!! Now they go to se la in a tough series but good thing is se la is struggling....
puddin tane Posted March 27, 2011 Report Posted March 27, 2011 mid county freshman got smacked around some on the hill....need a 2nd baseman
KingSnake Posted March 28, 2011 Author Report Posted March 28, 2011 I'm thinking they need a better arm at short. In fridays game, there were 2 or 3 infield hits to short that shoild have been outs, but too weak of an arm at the position. i wonder if Buchanan shouldn't be moved to 2nd.
ForeverADog Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Buchanan has as quick of a release as anyone in the country at short that helps him make up for not having that strong of an arm. Keep in mind he was the second baseman for the start of last year. Mena, Bunner, and company were having lots of problems with errors so Giligan switched them and it worked great. I know Mena is struggling bad, I just haven't aren anything from Pasket or Dewey to make me think they should start before Mena.
