[/quote]Sorry, you need a coach who will recognize, recruit, and get the talent of players who can compete at a mid-major conference. The talent pool ain't that great out there once you start looking at the 100-200 players in the lower rankings.

Best example is Lumberton in the early to mid 2000's.. They ran a spread offense for football and they were all white with no one running under a 4.8 with a QB that wasn't successful throwing the ball. Hence, a spread offense doesn't fit that team which is why Lumberton never won.

Just hire Evans as HC and Cross as his assistant.  Evans will head to OU in 4 or 5 years and Cross will take over.  The program will be set for about 8-10 years.

I think that there is a definate prefence to hire a minority.  Even without the preference, I am about as opposed to Knight as I am Abatemarco, maybe equally opposed.
