The guys team is alot stronger, but I wouldn't necessarily say girls team is weak.  They arn't quite as good as Friendswood's girls, but I'd say they are one of the regions top teams.

Brenham girls have lost in the regional final twice, neither time to Friendswood who they beat in the semi's in 2002.  So, it would be incorrect to say that a two-time regional runner-up has never been one of the regions top teams.

Friendswood's boys have never made it to state but have lost in the regional final twice and I consider them to be one of the top teams in the region........  ;)

FF...Brenham girls, during the past four or five years, has been one of the top teams in Region III.
They have a solid reputation that they have EARNED over the years.
PNG will have to play their best against Willis and again versus Brenham.

Brenham [b]is[/b] a quality team.  Good game by LC-M. If your team is not Freindswood then FF dont believe you should even play soccer.  To him, one of the region's top teams can be only Friendswood.  He thinks Midway (defending region champs) is a very distant second and Stratford might be able to sniff their dirty socks if they get lucky.  Everyone else should just give up cause they'll never get any better, at least not as good as FW.   I love you though FF, make sure you keep posting on here after the move up to 5A.  We'll be rootin for ya  ;)

My goodness, where do I begin?  

Dual, it really is time to quit clinging to that miracle win by the Brenham girls over Friendswood in a shootout in the regional semifinals ten years ago.  It was a great win for the Brenham girls (their only win ever over a Friendswood team in about 10 games or more over the years), but it was a fluke and it no more made them one of the top teams than does VCU's miracle run to the Final Four truly make them one of the top teams in college basketball.  The Brenham girls are, and have always been, a second (or sometimes third) tier team in the region.  Their earned reputation (especially over the last 4-5 years) is that they have a nice season, win a couple of playoff games, and get sent packing when they play a really good team.  Again, I am sorry, but those are the facts.  

By contrast, the FHS girls have never failed to make at least the Regional Semifinals, and have WON 1/2 of the Region III Championships ever contested in 4A soccer.  Midway, likewise, makes far deeper playoff runs than Brenham in those years when they are in Region III.  And, for the record RDS, as I've previously said on this website, I think that the Friendswood and Midway girls are pretty evenly matched this year; which means that neither is a distant second to the other.  However, with the possible exception of Stratford (and the Kelly girls team  ;)), I think that all the other girls teams in the region are a distant third and beyond to FHS and Midway.    

Now, the FHS boys -- well that's a different story.  Generally great seasons, including victories over solid non-district opponents, marred by terrible playoff (under)performances.  One might say that they tend to choke.  Until they prove that they can do it in the playoffs, I don't generally consider them to be one of the top teams in the Region -- although, in fairnness, since there is no single, dominant program in Region III-4A soccer on the boys side (quit crying Dual, it's true), the Friendswood boys have a better chance year in and year out to break through than, say, the Brenham girls.

I consider Friendswood the top 4A girls program in the region, Midway second, and then probably Brenham.  It is hard to say that Stratford is one of the top programs in the region when this is their first year as a 4A school, THOUGH they have an excellent team this season and Kelly is a private school.

When someone asks who are the top teams in the region, I think most people are going to list 4-5 teams, EVEN IF one of them is more dominant than the others.

On the boys side, there is tremendous parity. But, with the exception of Klein Oak's two years at the 4A level, Brenham is the only team to make it to state more than once (five times) and to the regional final four more than three times (eight times).  So while Brenham isn't a DOMINANT force on the boys side, I would say that they have had a slight edge over the years.
