BudTugley Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Freshman Keaton Smith pitches a complete game and Tyler Caruthers goes 4 for 5 for the Oilers in the 7 - 3 victory.
Shackum Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Good win WH, fair and square. Wish I could have seen a little better sportsmanship. Especially when the team you just beat is emotionally exhausted and burying one of their friends the next day. R.I.P. - TM
BleedinPurple Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Good job WH. Way to shut em' down. BS has HI number next time.
Guest Its_Just_Me Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Good JOB Keaton, and congrads WH
oiler#3 Posted March 30, 2011 Report Posted March 30, 2011 Bad sportsmanship for beatin a school that had a kid pass away??? that's ridiculous the kid graduated last year and just cause he passed away doesn't mean WH should lie down and let HI kill them it was a hard fought game both ways and all the WH players told the whole HI team sorry for their loss but seriously bad sportsmanship cause WH won when a kid dies get real
Shackum Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 Bad sportsmanship for the sake of bad sportsmanship is never right. I have no problem with the win as I stated just the bad sportsmanship. To suggest that WH should have let HI win is ludicrous and not even suggested.I know that WH has many fine boys and that sometimes we can judge on the actions of what may be a very few, and for that I apologize.
The1 and only Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 WH is definately known to be bad sports in numerous sports
I don't see a need for you to apologize. The bad sportsmanship was AFTER the game. You never said anything close to saying that WH should have let HI win "when a kid dies" (EVEN if the kid graduated last year). The HI boys WERE emotionally exhausted, yet the errors cost them the game. Today, after burying their very close friend (just because a kid is not in high school anymore does not mean a friendship ends), they went to Sabine Pass & certainly didn't expect SP to let them win either.I haven't commented on any thread in a long time, but the complete disregard for the loss of a life shown by the other poster really hit home. The entire community was affected, but NO ONE thought - especially NOT the HI boys - that WH should have just laid down.

HI_#20_Mom Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 I am so very proud of the community of kids we have at High Island. They try very hard to take care of each other in life and death.
