Oh_Lets_doit Posted March 31, 2011 Report Posted March 31, 2011 Now that the season is over, which team had the best goal keeper and best deffense in the area of 37-4a and 38? Your opinions?
CoachL Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 Lumberton only allowed 8 goal in district play this year. Sadly 5 of them were given up in the first game of district vs Livingston. I would like to add this was without Justin Lyons playing at 100% coming off his hamstring injury. Since Justin returned to the starting lineup, we only gave up 3 goals (1 PK) with him in the back. We finished the year with 7 shutouts in district play with Justin and also were able to shut out Vidor in the 1st Round of the playoffs (Not an easy task). 8 of our last 10 games were shutouts. Our GK Dylan Hunley finished the year with 10 shutouts (7 in district) including a shut out in the playoffs. Outside of the 1st game of District --he played amazing in the goal for a 1st year keeper. He was easily one of the best in our districtTeam Goals scored Goals allowedLumberton 50 8 Livingston 36 10 Liberty 23 15
slick5 Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 Livingston also had a first year keeper. Sophemore Kade Burman. He is 6ft 5 and will be a force in the net for years to come.
CoachL Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 he will be a good one in the future to look out for.
reporter06 Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 How was silsbee Goal Keeper? Did he play good? No one has mentioned him again... ???
weasel Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 PNG's Keeper Lauren Lovejoy has had a stellar year and she is only a sophmore! PNG is now in the fourth round of the playoffs and her performance last night against Brenham was amazing. The pressure on a keeper in a shootout is enough! But against Brenham in the third round of the playoffs....thats another whole story! She totally was in command and the Brenham shooters had no answer! Great job Lauren! Not only for last night but for a great year! Midway next! BELIEVE...
