u_dnt_kno_me Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 this is pertaning to all sports..With 12 Seniors (starting) in football..the starting 5 in basketball...and 9 baseball what do you think will happen?? ???
BIGMO44 Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 Not sure what you're saying...there's 12 Seniors this year? If so, trouble next year. There's 12 Seniors expected for next year? Not bad! I'm also wondering where Bville came up with 12 Senior Football players.
u_dnt_kno_me Posted April 5, 2011 Author Report Posted April 5, 2011 12 seniors leaving everyone i listed is leaving
WOSgrad Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 Maybe some 6 man football is in Burkeville's future

They have everything else they need.

BIGMO44 Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 I really hate that the numbers are so low in Bville. They have a rich history in football and I was really looking for things to turn around with the return of Harper last year. If their numbers are that low and they are graduating 12 senior starters...it will be hard for the Stangs to turn it around any time soon.

bigsoftballfan Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 If thay go to 6man would thay be with Chester?
kicker Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011
If thay go to 6man would thay be with Chester?
Logic, geography, and likeness would say yes. Why wouldnt they be with Chester? However, were talking about the UIL. i.e. Livingston in 204A. So not telling what would happen.
HSB&Rangers Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 There is not a lot of 6-man around here, so they would almost have to be with Chester. You have Apple Springs, Oakwood...not sure who else, but that district has a lot of long drives.
BIGMO44 Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 With the low number of 6 man teams in East Texas, they would likely be in Chester's District...if they had to go 6 man. Man-o-man, never thought we'd be having this conversation...
WOSgrad Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 Well, while the talk of 6 man is interesting (I know, I started it), I don't think that we will see Burkeville dropping from the 11 man ranks. Yes, they may be losing a lot of seniors, but I am sure that the junior class does possess some males and like many times at 1A schools, young men from all grades will be counted on to continue.IF they do decide to go the 6 man route, it would NOT be the first time that Burkeville was in the 6 man ranks. From 1943-1969, Burkeville competed in six man football.
Guest Burkeville Chronicle Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 More and more kids are leaving Burkeville..lost 4 more this week...bad times here right now..The district is cutting about 8 teachers as well.
u_dnt_kno_me Posted April 7, 2011 Author Report Posted April 7, 2011 itd be a sad day when we dropped down to 6 man football..
Jacket Mom Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011
itd be a sad day when we dropped down to 6 man football..
Sadder to drop program all together. Should always consider those remaining. I will say again...6man is still competitive no matter what you've been taught to believe.
