SportsN3rd Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 Hemphill goes to Central Heights to stay at 2nd place in the district while CH is playing for district champions.
allball24 Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 So I'm guessing everyone is thinking CH?
pinelandflash Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 I have to say Central Heights but I think it will be more competitive this time around. I'll say 15-7 CH.
BluePride152011 Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 I don't think hemphill can score more than a run or two of CH. I also don't think CH will score quite as many this time around either. CH 15Hemphill 1
SportsN3rd Posted April 20, 2011 Author Report Posted April 20, 2011 CH 13 or 14Hemphill 7 Much closer ball game than the score shows. Great game
pinelandflash Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I heard today that the game was tied late but errors cost Hemphill. Heard the Twine kid pitched pretty good too. Don't know which one cause I wasn't there. I almost nailed the score though, missed the top number by one!
BluePride152011 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 The game was tied because of walks and errors from the CH side. 7 walks, 2hbps, 2 throwing errors, and numerous pbs and wps in the first three innings. Hemphill didn't hit the ball hard at all until a new kid got brought in. Even then, they only hit about three or four balls hard. First hit was a misplayed bunt. Second was a soft liner that was dove over the top of by an infielder. Third hit I believe was also an infield hit. CH smashes the ball in the first couple innings, scoring 5 then two, then justin twine pitched real well. It was a sloppy, long, and fairly boring game with some high points of excitement coming late. Also, being senior night, the kid hitting .640 for CH didn't even play until the fourth inning. The lineup was moved around a bit. Hats off go to Hemphill as they battled until the end and played one of the closest games against CH this year. Good luck to them and may they do damage in the playoffs (having to beat Woodville to guarantee a spot).
