tvc184
I wonder how many games the Cowboys would have won if they didn't have Emmit Smith. I have personally seem him take control of a game. I guess the Cowboys in the 90's were not really that good because Emmit carried them. It is obvious that Micah Mosley is the star of the team. It is equally obvious that Nederland would have lost a couple of more games without him and not made the playoffs. So what is the point? I wonder how good Central would be if they had to bring a second string quarterback off of the bench. I wonder how good.......

The Big Ticket
well if you wanna say something about Emmit smith.. How about Vince Young... Do you really think Texas would have beat USC last year WITHOUT him? One individual can be a big part of the team...

Maybe Texas wants to give back the championship since it was obvious that Vince Young carried the team. Bring in a backup quarterback and Texas is not even in the game. I think USC needs to be declared the real champs!
WOS92
Congrats to Ned. That being said, it's hard to understand gloating in anyone's face when you're 5-5. Unless the dogs win in the first round, they go out with a losing record. I'm glad your streak is extended, but a thread rubbing a 5-5 record in someone's face is kinda funny. GoDogs27
Its not rubbing a record in anyones face... But how many teams schedule preseason teams like La Marque and Waller??? Its more so on being proud of the streak... Its going to be ok, dont get jealous...
Guest Penny
92, Obviously we've had better teams. But most wrote us off after Vidor pulled the shocker, so this is very sweet, no matter how it got done... it got done. If WOS made it into the playoffs at 5-5 and went on to win the state championship, would the regular season matter? I'm not saying Nederland is going to win it all, they'll struggle to win their first, although I think they will. This thread has a lot of history, especially for bigdog/GoDogs27 and their buddy piratefan and what he's been preaching all year.
12
When the topic of the thread is targetted to taunt a specific individual, I'd consider that rubbing it in someone's face. Congrats to Nederland, anyway.
Bigdog
This was aimed at piratefan, he's been talking the most trash on Ned, forgetting the fact that they only other win they have after that is squeaking by a 1-9 team. GoDogs27
But wait BigDog... it doesnt matter, they beat Nederland... why even try after that???
WOS92
Its going to be ok, dont get jealous... We're 10-0, including a big win over Dayton. Why am I jealous again?

Go back on the threads and see what he is been posting. Just giving him some crow to eat.
GoDogs27
Well we are on here talking about our streak and you come in and start talking trash about it... is it because you dont have a streak?? Probably not, but it definitely hints at that... I will say that a lot of WOS fans are great people and class acts, however, some people from WOS are still bitter from the two times we knocked em out from the playoffs... Not saying you are one of those people WOS92...let me say that again... I am not saying you are one of those people
Guest Penny
I don't think ANYONE from WOS is jealous of NEDERLAND in the least. They won the last two and owned us for the better part of the rivalry.

WOS92
I'm not bitter at all - and far from jealous. I wouldn't trade my team's legacy with ANYONE's in this area. As far as bitter, how is it that Ned alone "knocked us out" of the playoffs? We lost to Ozen one of those years and Central the other. They played an equal hand in that and - in fact - took the title each year. Those years were good years. We were 8-2 and in a strong district. The tiebreaker kept us out one year, and the arbitrary points cap on the tiebreaker kept us out the other. That was a LONG time ago. This is now. We're undefeated and probably would have won y'all's district this year (winning by 17 AT Dayton). My point is that if my team was 5-5 - playoffs or not - I wouldn't be "barking" at anyone. Yeah, you have a "streak," but you extended it with a pretty sad regular season record. Here's a streak for ya: WO-S hasn't had a losing season in 24 years. If you think finishing in the postseason at sub 500 is something to brag about, it's a sad day in Mid County. I'd focus on finishing at .500 or better by winning next week. Good luck. GoDogs27
and thats exactly what we will do... but you arent classy by coming on here running your mouth... why even say anything?? you said something equally as negative on another thread... you should support teams from this area. I hope WOS wins it all and I back them 100 percent... And if they had a down year I wouldnt be jerk and run my mouth about how depressing it is to see them in the playoffs with a .500 record...
