TallinaBoyz Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 We need to have another tourny this Summer. Any one interested in this idea?
Alpha Wolf Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Didn't fish in last years tourney but would be interested in one this year.
thetragichippy Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 We have talked about it, but last time we had I think 3 boats..........If we could get more than 3 boats, I would be all in........I have fished both tourneys.....The participation was very weak....

Lots of talk... not a lot of showing up.

We had a few no shows last time as well. My thought process was to take payment in advance. If the owners or admin's of this site would take the payments and charge a $5.00 site donation charge, it may could work out.......
TallinaBoyz Posted April 26, 2011 Author Report Posted April 26, 2011 Why a site donation? why not just twenty five per and five goes to the site?
Vpbaseball#9 Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I would really like to do this again... Just we need more boats... Pay in advance is the only way this would work... Im defentily in if we get enough commitments...

This way people can pay from their computer and noone has to be responsible for holding the money,,,,,,,that's IF the site will do it........
bullets13 Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 i fished the last tourney with hippy, but i have another buddy i can fish with to get an extra boat in the water for the next tourney.

TallinaBoyz Posted April 27, 2011 Author Report Posted April 27, 2011 Could I be the site member for two boats? just to have more participants

I've been out with him a few times, though, and we always have a good time. I just don't have a boat, but I do have someone else who can go, so i figured he could bring someone like me from the site who does not have a boat (TVC, for example), and I could bring in an extra boat for a tourney.

I'm an elitist and only use dry flies with barbless hooks(wouldn't want to hurt those fish) You rednecks probably bomb away with crankbaits and probably would stop in the middle of the tourney to try to catch a few catfish for supper later. ;D

Everyone had normal size fish except this one old farmer who had always brought in huge fish. The game warden heard about this and showed up one Sunday afternoon. After inspecting the old farmers fish, he turned to the farmer and said "If you don't show me your fishing spot , I'm going to have to close you down." The farmer replied by telling him to come out to the farm in the morning and he would take him fishing. The next morning the game warden shows up with his pole and the farmer tells him to climb onto the tractor. They head out into this big field until they come to a little pond. The warden is scratching his head because all he sees is a rotten old skiff, when he expected a large lake and something closer to a yacht. The farmer said to get in and they start rowing out to the middle. About this time the warden notices that there are no fishing poles. As he is about to say something, the farmer reaches into a box and pulls out a stick of dynamite, lights it and throws it into the pond. After the water and smoke settle, he paddles around picking up the fish. The warden's jaw is on the deck. He can't talk for a minute. When he finds his voice, he starts in on the farmer about how he can't believe what just happened and starts screaming to the farmer about all the regulations he has broken. While this is taking place the farmer calmly reaches into the box grabs another stick of dynamite, lights it, hands it to the warden and asks him if he is going to fish or talk.

Nothing like throwing in small sticks of dynamite to enhance the catch.
tvc184 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Dang..I just post about no poles and dynamite and THEN read hippie's post.... and he already has both. >:( ;DMaybe great minds think alike.

NSDX2 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 I was able to fish in the first event and had a great time, but I agree more boats are needed. I missed the second event and will missed the third event due to shoulder surgery. good luck to all - but i do have a question. Where is a good " fresh water bank fishing spot in the area " without driving to Rayburn from Nederland.
TallinaBoyz Posted April 30, 2011 Author Report Posted April 30, 2011 So lets talk dates. And I say we just pay when we get there because to be it would be easier
