eagleswoodville#1 Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Woodville has won the last 31 in a row. Doesnt look like its changing any time soon. But the rivalry is obviously still there when you watch these two teams compete. How does the rivalry withstand the beatings Warren takes year after year from Woodville?? is it deeper than just football?? Is it simply that the two towns are close to each other??
88Warrior Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 I believe alot of comes from familiarity...most of us grew up at Hennigan Park playing against each other then playing with each other on the All Star teams..the tide may be turning now...Warren actually turned in higher enrollment figures last year than Woodville and the town and school continue to grow....we will have to wait and see...

eagleswoodville#1 Posted May 11, 2011 Author Report Posted May 11, 2011 I was told Woodville has won 31 in a row. Not positive on that though. And yes, Warren did turn in higher enrollment, but I'm afraid the talent for Woodville is just now getting there. This junior class has an experienced line and a couple backs, te sophomore class provides two exceptional backs and a whole swarm of defense. Definitely looking forward to this ears game in old warrior stadium though ;)

That means that 31 in a row is not possible. There were times in the 90s and 2000s that Warren and Woodville did not even play each other. Like I said, I could be wrong.
eagleswoodville#1 Posted May 11, 2011 Author Report Posted May 11, 2011 Same here. Thats just what i was told. Thats not official by any means. I know warren took Wville into overtime in 06 or 07. Thats back when that kelly kid was playing quarterback for warren.
