mwilliamsdm Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 The Big Sandy Lady Wildcats posted a great season and made a strong playoff run before losing to Snook in the Region IV Quarterfinals. Big Sandy made some noise in the Area finals against Louise when they defeated the Hornets 108-103 in a four overtime period game. The combined 211 points ranks 6th nationally. Big Sandy also ranks fourth in the nation in most 3-point field goals attempted with 905 and 8th in 3-point fields goals made with 230. The 230 3-pointers ranks first in all five Texas classifications this year, finishing ahead of Class 4A Boerne with 228 and Class 5A Cy-Falls with 214. Big Sandy also finished second in Class1A Division I scoring with a 65.1 average per game. They were also first in total assists (568) and second in field goal attempts (2,434). All Districts picks: Brooklyn Battise—Freshman Newcomer of the year-Battise led the team with 173 assists and 106 steals and averaged 7.4 points per game.Sequoia Obe(Junior) Offensive MVP—Obe scored 312 points and finished with a team high 62 3-pointersHannah Kowena(Junior) Led the team in scoring with 11.8 average and shot 50% from 3 point range which currently ranks 11th nationallyNatalie Williams(Sophmore) First Team All-DistrictSantana Sylestine(Senior) TABC All-Region pickCongrats Ladies!
underarmor Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 They are a formidable opponent but Evadale plays defense like no other. It will be interesting but I will take the Rebels again. Even with only one Senior next year The Lady Rebs will continue their District winning ways.Congrats though to all BS Ladycats for a fine season
