Best players for their teams:

OF 4-6 (2-5) - Brett Ramsy

BC 6-4 (4-3) - JOhnny Dishon

HJ 3-7 (1-6) -Tre Burrell

HF -3-7 (1-6)-not a stand out

WOS 10-0 (7-0)- Earl Thomas

Silsbee 8-2 (6-1)-William Harper

Jasper 2-8 (2-5) - Not a stand out

Kirbyville 7-3 (5-2) -Pierce Rhodes

Anybody from HF, HJ, OF, and Jasper do not have a chance because their temas did not even have a winning record. Ramsy and Burrel are the only ones worth recognizing

BC's Johnny Dishon even though their team did not make the playoffs was a one man show. Without him BC possibly goes 2-8 or 1-9. But his performances against WOS and Silsbee was not good enough so he is out.

Earl Thomas is by far WOS best player. He has signed to UT for god sakes. But he is a do everything on offense, QB in Goal line, RB, and WR. And on defense he is a LOCK DOWN Corner.. Do not throw it his way. Plus he is a threat on all special teams. But he plays for WOS who has surrounding talent.

Silsbee's William Harper is another do everything type of guy, run or pass. He also had carries for 79 yards a TD, and had 75 yards through the air against WOS.

Kirbyvilles Rhodes does have solid numbers but only had 39 yards rushing against WOS.

I feel that if someone is going to be a District MVP they have to have great stats against every team including the 10-0 team and if they didnt then you pick a player from a 10-0 Team (which is obvious)

So my pick goes to Earl Thomas a person who is a dominant player on a 10-0 Team on Defense, offense, and Special Teams

Tam you need to freaking simmer down....its people own personal opinion. Everytime someone says something thats not in some way possitive about wo-s' date=' you get offended and feel as if you have to bash that poster.[/quote']

Maybe it's because you can't just say something good about Wo-s, you always have to follow it with something negative.

Remember that MVP should mean how valuable the player is to his team' date=' successful or not. West Orange has several that if they were not on the team, someone else would step up. I would say:

1. Ramsey - OF

2. Rhodes - K-ville

3. Harper/Johnson - Silsbee

4. Thomas - WOS

Without Ramsey, OF is not even competitive.[/quote']

It's hard to look at players on losing teams as Mvp because part of being a Mvp is making your team better. There are lots of players who can put up big numbers, but are you really making your team better? A team that totally focuses on one player make them very easy to defend. That's why I couldn't vote for Ramsey or Deshon for Mvp. Although they are outstanding players, they don't really make their teams that much better.

Garrett of WO-s is the MVP' date=' the only back to bruise his way for every yard earned. Not to mention he has over 1,100yds and 14TDs rushing.

When you look at what this kid has accomplished, you must give him MVP honors[/quote']

I don't know if Garrett will or should be Mvp, but he is definately an outstanding player and will really be a monster next year. Think about what he did he rushed for over 1100 yards on an offense that throws the ball more than they run. If he had gotten the number of carries that some of these other players got in this district, just think what he would have done.

And that is EXACTLY why some of us believe it should be Rhodes.

Thomas, Bevil, and Garrett are OUTSTANDING players. But were WO-S to lose any one of them, they would immediately have another player of the same caliber to step in and take right over, making it hard for me to pick any of the 3 as MVP. Talented, YES! Superb athletes? YES! MVP's? No.

Rhodes, on the otherhand, had many GREAT games, and carried Kirbyville into the play-offs. He had an off night @ WO-S - Was he out of position (QB) or was it WO-S's great defense? We'll never know. But every other game he played in, he WAS the impact player for Kirbyville.

$0.02

to me a mvp is the best player on the best team' date=' which makes it hard to pick the best player on the mustangs team.

Go with Bevil because he has done an excellent job spreading the ball around and has been more than great at leading the mustangs to their 10-0 record.[/quote']

I wish Kirbyville/Wos would meet up again. Pierce may had only 39 yards rushing playing Qb. The way they are playing now with Booker and Hazelwood back. Wos would see why Rhodes averages close to 200 yards a game. Our defense is looking a whole lot better from earlier in the season. And the best thing, these boys are young and playing with heart.

No giving up in this state championship chase this year!!!!

Earl Thomas because he can change the outcome of a game all by himself. there is not a school in 21-3A that would pass on the oppurtunity to have #12 Earl Thomas on their team. he would be a "valuable" player to any squad in the state. when his career is over he will join the ranks of the "crown jewels" that wos has produced over the years. men like earnest anderson, kerry franks sr., kevin smith, terrence brown, quentin tezeno, paul thomas, chris cole and deon beasley just to name a few.

Earl Thomas is the superstar player in the district, no doubt. But check out the junior RB from Kirbyville:

Pierce "The Duece" Rhodes has 147 carries for 1,418 yds and 22 TD. He is the District 21-3A Rushing Champion.

I believe he may be the scoring champion of District 21-3A also. Pierce scored 164 points. (22 rush TD, 3 receiving TD, and seven 2-point conversions). Pierce is also a three-way player ~ starts on all special teams, offense and defense.

He HAD to play QB against WOS which is why his numbers were down that game. He's not a QB, but he's a pure slashing type running back.

The sophomore QB Aaron Hazlewood also had a career regular season. He only started and played in 9 games. He had to sit out the WOS game. Here's his impressive rookie numbers:

Aaron Hazlewood, Kirbyville was 63-116-9 for 1,454 yards and 10 Touchdowns which also includes a RECORD 99 yard TD pass versus Liberty.

Good numbers, but until they get these kinds of totals against a defense the caliber of Wo-s, they won't get a whole lot of respect. If your a playmaker, it doesn't matter where they put you on the field, your gonna get your yardage and your gonna score. Wo-s puts Earl at quarterback from time to time and he doesn't miss a step...that's a playmaker. It's very tough to run against Wo-s, and being a slashing type runner plays right into their hands because they are too fast. If you can't run up the middle consistantly against them, you won't gain much yardage.

    • Atleast you can say the two games LCM loss were against teams with winning seasons.
    • These types of playoff games have almost always depended on the start for teams like Nederland.  They have to be prepared and get off to a good start. Mistakes and penalties can’t happen.  If Thomas and Sunday step up, it will be a W.  You got this Dogs!
    • Gotta love this guy…..
