RockNFire Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 Diboll scores 8 runs in the second inning to take control of the game, and advance to the quarterfinal round for a backyard brawl with the Hudson Hornets.
HSB&Rangers Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 Never saw them making it this far. Great run for the Jacks
RockNFire Posted May 15, 2011 Author Report Posted May 15, 2011
Never saw them making it this far. Great run for the Jacks
Don't feel bad "Rangers", very few people did. Jacks are playing good ball right now. They played very well against Athens, and pretty good against Madisonville. Matt Smith thru 13.67 playoff innings has an ERA of 1. Bats have been timely, and so far there has been no quit in this team. They advanced today to the quarterfinal round for the first time in 20 years. Next week they take on district rival Hudson in a one game showdown. In that scenario, anything can happen. If the Jacks can get past the Hornets, it will be the deepest the school has ever advanced in the baseball playoffs. Smith has always pitched well against them, beating them at the JV level, and last year on the varsity. This year they beat Smith 2-0, and both runs were unearned. It should be a hard fought game, and a heck of a lot of fun.
HSB&Rangers Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 Heard it was a one gamer next week in Dibol. Sunds like someone won some flips.
