Bigdog
It depends, most change the cleats out, and its not near as bad as the old Astroturf. We end up playing on turf a couple times a year, so its not that new.
Guest coachhooker
yeah we changed shoes to but it is still difficult i think making that move also the worst place to play in the world on turf was the astrodome baseball and football there are soft and hard sports i dunno how to explain it but it was not fun
KFDM COOP
The new field turf is so much better.
shermdog
Field turf is nice. However, there are a few fields in the Houston area that are still astroturf. SHSU is still turf. One thing I believe, is you have to practice on it( at least once) to get the feel of it. Old monsanto 8 is different than field turf in reaction and cushioning. I also believe that speed is enhanced on the old turf. Field turf plays like grass. My $.

Tulsa
Thanks Coop...BTW it's thundering at my house right now, shouldn't you be doing a cut-in or something? Do you anticipate any schools adding turf?
KFDM COOP
Nederland will get turf within the next few years and maybe Silsbee. WOS is looking into it as well.

Wo-s has always loved playing on turf. It makes a fast team faster. If your a team that hasn't played on it much though, you could have some problems with slipping.
