Bigdog Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 It depends, most change the cleats out, and its not near as bad as the old Astroturf. We end up playing on turf a couple times a year, so its not that new.
Guest coachhooker Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 yeah we changed shoes to but it is still difficult i think making that move also the worst place to play in the world on turf was the astrodome baseball and football there are soft and hard sports i dunno how to explain it but it was not fun

shermdog Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Field turf is nice. However, there are a few fields in the Houston area that are still astroturf. SHSU is still turf. One thing I believe, is you have to practice on it( at least once) to get the feel of it. Old monsanto 8 is different than field turf in reaction and cushioning. I also believe that speed is enhanced on the old turf. Field turf plays like grass. My $.02

Wo-s has always loved playing on turf. It makes a fast team faster. If your a team that hasn't played on it much though, you could have some problems with slipping.
