I try not to pay any attention to Dove and his Nederland comments. He is still upset that HF's best freshman, from last yr, transferred to a real BB program. He just needs to wise up and move the Little Doves. That move would get his 2 further in the playoffs than any HF team will go.  :D

Got a nice peak at some young Dawgs today in Houston. Playing against the best select teams in Texas and beyond will continue making them better. Tons of College scouts and Ex NBA players in attendance. Their future looks bright!

Coach English exposing his kids to 'big-time' competition again this summer. Gotta love it! Preparing them for a trip to Austin! It's just a matter of time...

First game was against Houston (Select or Elite). Kids from St. Pius, Yates, and others. Lost to them by 15. Score was 102-87. The Houston kids shot over 70% from 3 land. Then they beat a team from Oklahoma by 10. Unbelievable talent at this tourney. One other local team was there from Beaumont. That team was a WB, Ozen, and Central team mixed. Talented, but no size. Not sure how they did.

We played well against the first team, Houston Select, but just got out shot towards the end. That team had to have made 15 3's. Greg Wise of Jack Yates was their coach and you know he isnt going to coach a team that doesnt have a chance to win every game ;) The second team was Oklahoma Shock and we matched-up much better against them. Huge game today at 7:30 against Franchize Allstars. They played in the game right after us and you should have seen the scouts watching those players :o Expecting the same turn-out of D1 coaches

Nederland played again tonight in Houston-losing a heartbreaker to Houston Franchise by 3. We led the entire game until about 2 minutes remained. Franchise is  full of D1 talent. There were about 10-12 D1 scouts watching the game. They thought they were there to see the Houston kids only. I think they left with a new list of kids to recruit from Nederland and PA.

No lie there! MC Flight put on a real good showing out there! We only lost by 1 though and really turned peoples heads who thought it was going to be a blowout. Played hard and motivated to win but came up a little short..

Franchize has several teams . Are you positive you were playing their top team? They do have developmental teams.
[/quote]

Trust me.. Their guys are ranked on ESPN for this coming up year

Dont think its possible for a Mid County team to play that well against top playes? ;) ;D

I've seen their top team play several times and I have no doubt that Nederland is capable of beating them. Franchize lost out early at the tournament this weekend in Houston.  Team Sneed 17u played in the final and lost out to another Houston team and the Sneed 16 u came a game short of the final. Not bad for a couple of small, non sponsored teams from little old Beaumont.

    • I like option number two, PNG and Nederland both win. Nederland i’ll be the district champion, number 1 seed or whatever you want to call it. Yes I know that if two or three teams tie with the same record, they will be called co-champions and everyone gets a trophy. One team however will go in as the first place team in district and will play the fourth place team in the bi-district round. If PNG and Nederland both win, Nederland will be #1. • Virginia has same day voter registration. A person can literally walk in to the voting location, register and then vote. So the premise that Virginia might be stopping people with a legitimate right to vote is nonsense. From what I gather in the news report, assuming that the ones I have read are correct, the people that were removed, filled out a drivers license registration and marked that they were not an American citizen. Could the person have made a mistake bychecking the box incorrectly? Although unlikely it is certainly possible. That same person who was removed can go into the same voting location where he would have voted and again, complete a voter registration and then vote.  That went into the Supreme Court’s decision.  If such a person votes by registering on election day, he fills out a provisional ballot. Provisional ballots are not originally counted and or not counted unless needed. For example….  Statewide there are 500 provisional ballots cast. A person wins the election by 4,000 votes. That would be no need to count the provisional ballots as it will not matter. Then let’s say there are 5,000 provisional ballots cast in the election. One candidate then wins the election by only 1,500 votes. In that case, the election could definitely swing on those provisional ballots. The state will then investigate each person to make sure they live at the correct address listed and that they are American citizens. If these things are correct, the vote will then be counted. Safe Harbor is not untillll…… I think December 17th this year so there will be six weeks to verify the provisional ballots if needed. The purging of the names of people who checked a state form saying that they were not an American citizen, will not stop that same person from voting.
