"I have a real strong feeling that I've got this in the bag," said Fort, who finished second in the state his sophomore year. "I don't want to be too confident, because there could always be that one guy who decides to kick it in with 80 meters to go to pass me. But I plan to just take it out really hard in my final high school race.

"I feel a lot stronger. I feel like I have a lot more power. I know that I can do it, that there's nobody in the state of Texas who can beat me."

This is what he had to say when interviewed by the Austin American Statesmen. The article ran the morning of the meet. Drew Bean got a chance to read a little before his race. Congrats to Drew bean on a tremondous race, one of the best I've ever seen. Drew did not lead until the final 200 meters, but he was in control of the race from start to finish.
