Puma Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Does anyonbe have any information on any fishing leases in the area. I am looking for a pond or private lake that can fished from a jon boat and troll motor.
Alpha Wolf Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 There is one in PA on highway 69. I called about it a while back and think it is $250 for the whole year for your family.

It was a great place to fish but I haven't been back in about 4 years. I used it for a flyfishing location since I could walk around the bank without the need for a boat. I almost always brought in fish to eat for dinner.
Alpha Wolf Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Also some other places I use to go before I got my boat. The ponds at the end of Bigner Road in Beaumont are free. Mitchell Lakes in Lumberton but you must pay to fish and you can't keep the bass.

Puma Posted May 25, 2011 Author Report Posted May 25, 2011 I use to fish on a place off hwy 365 not far from Rodaire (sp?) Gulley. I has been quite a few years it was expensive but their were 5 sperate ponds and the bass fishing was excellent. I heard that one of the hurricanes caused salt water intrusion and killed the fish.Does any no anything about that location.

whsalum Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 If you have a small aluminum boat there used to be one in south county called Spindletop bayou that had some really good bass/crappie and blue gill fishing. You had to have a smaller aluminum boat to pull over a set of rollers.I haven't heard anything about it in several years but it was really good years ago.

Caught my only 10 lb bass in that lake. Heard the salt water wiped it out during Ike.

I think that they were going to try to "re-build", but so far, all of my phone calls to the manager have gone unanswered. I'm pretty sure that it's toast now.
