Spots I can't help you with, but will give this advise.  When you get in a "lake" of the river, start looking for small cuts or drains coming out of the marsh/swamps.  Because the river is tidal, watch the tides and fish the drains on a falling tide.  Bait comes flowing out the swamps and the bass wait in the open water.
