Well, the number that Ozen turned in last time around was 1227 and the 4A floor was 990.

Even if that floor comes up the next alignment, they would still have to have lost A BUNCH of students for a drop to 3A occur.
I still can't understand why its not happening with ONLY 3 schools in Beaumont. I use to see the hs players working out with the college players when I first got to Beaumont. Don't see it anymore.

Never should have created a 3rd high school in Beaumont anyway...
Cause WestBrook and Central, are already over crowded...

Man you guys are so short sided.  At one time BMT had 6 public hs and 2 ISD's.......

Anyway, quit with all the transfers from the Pear to WB and Ozen will stay 4A.....

If Ozen goes down to 3A with the same amount of students it has now, LC-M, Lumberton, and Livingston are all going down with it (they're all the same size or smaller) and District 20-4A is in a lot of trouble.

They don't even have one dominate school.  I would say they have 2 schools that are slightly above average, and 1 that struggles.

Should have spent the money years ago to expand and renovate instead of create a 3rd high school.  We would now have two pretty dominate 5A schools in Beaumont.

D3, nothing against Ozen, just remember the days when Central and West Brook games REALLY meant something.  Now it's too diluted.

SFA, yea I remember the Greenies, Cougars, Buffaloes, etc.

Been in BMT since '91.  WB had it all, Central had nothing and their ADM was dropping since day 1(per Dave Campbell Football) and WB dominated the Beaumont Bowl also.  I think Central may have won 2 before Ozen opened.  All the kids in NW Beaumont that were suppose to go to Central based on the old French AZ, started going to WB.  Also, Kelly was pretty stout back then also.  Besides, before the Teabaggers of the WestEnd began crying, CBT was a hero when he took BISD to neightborhood schools.....

in the late 80's to mid 90's WB did very well. WB in 91 was ranked 3rd in state. I too believe they should've stayed with two HS. The people in the pear orchard wanted old Hebert back, so they created Ozen to make people happy. Now, if they would let the coaches do thier thing at Ozen, they would win some games. Still think they did Lewis wrong.

If they ever do drop to 3A, it won't be any time soon and many schools will be dropping with them and many of the local 3A schools would be down to 2A if the cutoff numbers in each classification continue to rise. OF, HJ, and HF are all pretty low 500's I believe and I think the cutoff is high 400 for 2A. They are all closer to 2A than Ozen is to 3A.
