The ‘Catters are currently in fourth place in the American Conference’s South Division with 13 points, but have played two less games than first place Gwinnett. Kevin Baker leads the Wildcatters with 10 goals and 16 points and also leads the ECHL with 7 power play goals. J.F. David leads all defensemen with 12 points (1 goal and 11 assists). This Week’s Games Friday, November 17 at 7:30 p.m. CT and Saturday, November 18 vs. Augusta at 7:05 p.m. CT at Ford Arena (Lloyd’s RV Night) The Wildcatters look to stay unbeaten at home when they play the Augusta Lynx for the first time this season. Augusta currently has a record of 6-5-0-0 and is sixth in the South Division with 12 points. The Lynx is lead by forward Jamie Johnson who has 3 goals and 11 assists for 14 points. Rookie goaltender Dave McKee has a record of 6-2-0 with a .900 save percentage for Augusta. Last week – Wildcatters Sweep Defending Conference Champions. Friday, November 10 vs. Gwinnett 5-4 Win OT The Texas Wildcatters rallied from two goals down in the third period and completed a thrilling come from behind victory to defeat the Gwinnett Gladiators 5 to 4 at Ford Arena. Mike Bayrack scored the game winner at 1:52 of overtime to complete the comeback for Texas. Bayrack skated in on the right wing side past the Gwinnett defense to beat Gladiators goaltender Dan Turple and send the ‘Catters home winners. Daniel Sparre scored two goals including the game tying goal at 15:31 of the third period. Sparre also put on a magnificent move to tie the game at 4. Kevin Baker netted his league leading 10th goal of the season and Mark Rooneem rounded out the scoring for the Wildcatters. Matt Yeats was instrumental in keeping the Wildcatters in reach for the comeback as he stopped 36 Gwinnett shots including all 15 in the third period. It was the first ever win for the Wildcatters against Gwinnett. Saturday, November 11 vs. Gwinnett 3-1 Win The Texas Wildcatters on the strength of two goals from Marco Rosa and 35 saves from goaltender Matt Yeats defeated the Gwinnett Gladiators at Ford Arena. The ‘Catters dominated the Gladiators from start to finish as they took both games from the Gladiators who came into the game tied for the most points in the league. Olivier Proulx opened the scoring on the power play, netting his first goal of the year at 7:19 of the first period. Andy Contois tied the game for Gwinnett in the second, but Marco Rosa responded late in the period give the Wildcatters the lead back at 2 to 1. Rosa would follow with his second goal of the night and fifth of the season at 8:55 of the third period to ensure the ‘Catters victory. Goaltender Matt Yeats made key saves all night, including ten in the third period to get his fifth win of the season. Kevin Baker who was honored before the game for the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week added two assists and has now scored at least one point in all nine Wildcatters games this season. As an incentive for those participating in the food drive, we will offer tickets for $5 for every 5 canned goods . We will showcase how much food has been collected during Saturday night's intermission activity. All donations need to be dropped off at the Wildcatters office at Ford Park during business hours, Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donations will be accepted up to game time on November 17 & 18. Tickets are valid for either November 17 or 18 game only. All food collected will be donated to the Southeast Texas Food Bank. Wildcatters in the Community On Tuesday, Wildcatters players will be reading to students of Van Buren Elementary School in Groves. On Wednesday, Head Coach Malcolm Cameron, General Manager Jennifer Nguyen and players will be speaking to the Groves Rotary. Also, there will be a street hockey clinic at Pietzsch and MacArthur Elementary School. On Thursday, players will be making a special appearance at a Watering Seeds event. Watering Seeds is an organization aimed to help rehabilitate physically challenged athletes.
