Houston Chronicle- The Cubs are heading back to Round Rock.

Powered by Chance Bolcerek’s three-run double in the fourth inning, Brenham (35-7) run-ruled fellow District 17-4A rival Magnolia (25-15-1) 10-0 in five innings on Saturday in Mumford to clinch the Class 4A Region III crown and defend last year’s state title.

Brenham pitcher Eric Stegent played an integral role in the decisive Game 3 outcome, tossing a one-hitter to shut down the Bulldogs’ potent lineup and notch the complete-game shutout. Corey Bentke and Kevin Kubeczka also contributed RBIs in the rout. As a result of the victory,Cubs’ next matchup will be determined with the release of semifinal pairings Sunday.
