PhatMack19 Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Any local kids that may get the call from a MLB team?
Guest UHCoog14 Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Gabby from Crosby will go in the early rounds. Possibly to the Mets.
PhatMack19 Posted June 6, 2011 Author Report Posted June 6, 2011 This mock draft has Jungmann going #12 to the Brewers. Hopefully the Astros will take him with the 11th pick if he's still there. I would rather a proven college pitcher over a HS SS.http://www.mymlbdraft.com/MLB-Mock-Draft-2011

BrenhamFan Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 I overheard Drake's dad talking at the game the other day, and he said that the night before he got calls from the Cardinals and the A's.
PhatMack19 Posted June 7, 2011 Author Report Posted June 7, 2011 Astros take George Springer CF from UCONN
PhatMack19 Posted June 7, 2011 Author Report Posted June 7, 2011 Jungmann goes next to the Brewers. The Astros may regret that for years to come.
Guest UHCoog14 Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 A CF'er? Maybe those Pence trade rumors are true.
king Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Pence plays right bourn plays center. We need to get rid of lee!
ForeverADog Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Experts say its a good pick so I'll trust them.
AJ25 Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011
A CF'er? Maybe those Pence trade rumors are true.
You're looking at 2 years minimum, more than likely 3-4 years before this kid ever dons an Astros uniform... One guy at least will need to be replaced by then. And Lee will be long gone lolAnd I think they regret Jungmann right away. He's a guy like Stephen or Mike Leake that will spend very little time in the Bus leagues..Astros that is.
Guest UHCoog14 Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 The point is that when you draft a position player it's based on future needs and not immediate impact. They have guys in the minors to replace Pence, however, you have to keep your farm system stocked.Lee needs to go, but who would take him?

Guest UHCoog14 Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Gabby from Crosby goes in 2nd round (78th pick) to Toronto. BYE BYE Lamar.

EAGLE07 Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Congratulations to Gabby of the Crosby Cougars ! Job well done, young man. Best of luck !!
BrenhamFan Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011
Wow Gabby! Had no clue he was that good!
I'm with you on this, but then again, we're not scouts. Lol. They obviously see a lot in him, and that's very impressive to go as the 78th pick.
ForeverADog Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Hopefully they won't pay him and he comes to Lamar and gets drafted 1st overall in 3 years! Lol ;D
Guest UHCoog14 Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Matt Purke is taken with the 98th pick. What are the odds he stays at TCU and trys to up his stock after a "down" year?

If he could have come out last year then he would have been an early 1st round pick. I talked to one of my friends that played against him a few times this year, and he said Purke didn't seem that interested in being there. He sat on the end of the bench by himself when he wasn't pitching and didn't seem to be part of the team. He may take whatever money he gets and go pro.
sportsman28 Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Great job CJ Ebarb (area scout) for taking a chance on this great young arm. Job well done!
YOUKNOWIT11 Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 Congrats Gabby!!! Impressive. Here's an article from The Chronicle.http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bb/7600129.html
setxballfan Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 Any word on Jaden Dillon from Bridge City? Played at McNeese. Heard he might be drafted?
