Beaumont area media usually considers Dayton to be a little too far west to be considered SETX.

The local media would consider Dayton within the Houston media coverage. Houston is technically SETX! I try to use GT area.

Outside of KVille and Dayton (who I guess isn't SETX) what has anyone done since PNG in 1999 and WOS in 2000. Has anyone even made it to the semi's? I think we have some really good football around here...just nothing seems to do really good in the playoffs.

If you consider Kirbyville as SETx then you have to consider Newton as SETx. Newton went to the state final game in 2004 and lost, but went back in 2005 and won. Newton is the last state champion from SETx. And the new coaches name is not Johnson but Johnston. Newton is also in Division I not Division II in 2A. Newton also has a state championship in 1998 and I believe that makes them have more state championship game appearances than anyone else in the SETX area since 1998. Incomplete reporting to say the least. ::)

maybe its because besides stump and his staff and hooks and his staff all these other coaches in this area are the leftovers from central, northeast, east, and houston area texas coaches. No one in this area goes the extra mile to get guys who know how to build a program much less run an offense they are all mediocre at best that is why setx programs havent seen much success you gotta get guys who know how to win end of story.

Coming out of the "SE Texas districts including WOS and Silsbee" Jasper made 4a QF in 2001, 3a Semi's in 2002 and 2003, and state final in 2004.  True, not so much since then....  >:(
