Guest Nederland Bulldogs Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 3 is a good number. In some districts the 3rd place teams are better than alot of district champs in other districts. We want our local districts to go as far as they can, whatever team it is. It is to our local advantage to let as many of our kids in the playoffs as we can. Flood the market. I agree! I like 3 or 4 actually. The UIL will eventually go to 4.
warfan Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 I agree with SVILLE. 2 is enough, anything after that is all about money. You can have a losing season and still make the playoffs, give me a break.
HJ-Hawks25 Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 well...now lets think about this...In football each team only plays a team in their district only 1 time....in basketball/baseball they get atleast two chances to prove against the other team what they got. Therefore,in football, the third place team may of had a couple players that have failed but regained a chance to play. Also, there may of been a couple players hurt when they played some teams. But they dont get a second chance to play a team again, unless in the playoffs. Therefore 3 teams is a good amount.
Cardinal Supporter Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 I like it as it is at 3 teams. In local districts sometimes 3 teams are fairly close and each should get a chance at the play-offs. This year WOS won district. Kirbyville and Silsbee were both good and deserved to go as the 2nd and 3rd teams in the play-offs. I wouldn't mind seeing a super state champ with a game between the two state champions but that probably will never happen.
j_dog Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 2 teams are enough. 3 is watered down with teams that weren't good enough to come in 1st or 2nd now you are rewarded for 3rd place, its stupid.I know how you feel. I used to think three teams were too many, until Jasper finished third in district, then made it to the state finals. ;DNow, I don't care. After the first round most of the weak teams are gone anyway. And by the end of the second round, if they are still around maybe they deserve to be there.Â
Guest Ozen Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 I like 3. We see 3rd place teams go farther than some 1st place teams sometime.
BigWolf10 Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 i think the 2 team system made your quest more ergent. greater accomplishment for the two that made it. was harder and it was good for the game. i miss it.
BMTSoulja1 Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 3. In some tough districts, the no. 3 seed are stronger and more battle tested than some of your district champions. Reward them with a playoff spot to prove that they belong.
TradinUp BH Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 Let's go to bowl games, you know the high school BCS. The top 20 teams in the state for each classification. Just kidding, I thought it would be funny ;D
stang4life Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 TWO!!!Didn't it used to be two before they did the D1 and D2 thing? You're already splitting it up into big teams and little teams. That should even things out quite a bit. Two is definitely enough.Â
KFDM COOP Posted July 15, 2007 Author Report Posted July 15, 2007 I'm one of very few who like for 3 teams to get in.
whiplash Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 i think 3 teams in each district should go. No d1 or d2. District winner gets bye and 2 and 3 playoff off to advance. In case of ties within the top 3 play it off. during the week if you have to.
Guest Penny Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 Should be two, period, you can't sway me on it. Two is the answer!!!
Guest Nederland Bulldogs Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 4!! See Penny if it were 4 we would have made the Playoffs in Baseball.
Guest Penny Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 Making the playoffs needs to mean something. 4 means 50 percent. It means "Above .500", Just doesn't mean special to me.
silly365 Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 im with ya penny and for the baseball program 4th maybe a standard there
