The only reason BH went to four A was because after katrina a bunch of new kids came from Louisiana
[/quote]

And they never left? BH still has 4a numbers and its 6 years later.

Don' think so bh eagle 99.  There's a lot of new subdivisions in the last 6-8 years out that way.

Deweyville turned in 201.

Please let the cutoff for 1A be 0 - 201. :)
Deweyville needs to be 1A to compete!!

They predict the cutoff will be 170-235. Lets hope that's true!

Doubt that.  1 loss in how many years?  Be careful what you hope for. Rebuilding is over, all is in place for next several years.

NEWTON SHOULD STAY 2A DIV1 - THAT DISTRICT WILL PROBABLY BE THE SAME EXCEPT kIRBYVILLE GOES DOWN AND BUNA GOES TO 3A.
BUNA-ANAHUAC-NEWTON-KIRBYVILLE-E.CHAMBERS-WARREN-KOUNTZE-HARDIN-WOODVILLE
I UNDERSTAND THAT ONE OF NEWTON'S PREDISTRICT GAMES NEXT YEAR MAY BE BRIDGE CITY. (MIGHT ALSO PLAY ORANGEFIELD).

What is the collateral effects of the Houston ISD and some Dallas area schools choosing not to "opt up" this year to stay in 4A? It would seem to me that if an effort is made to equalize the raw numbers in each classification, the addition of a number of new 3A schools would cause the 4A-5A cutoff number to rise to grab a few more 4A's, the 4A-3A number to fall some, and the 2A-3A cutoff number to also rise a bit to push some smaller 3A's back into 2A. Opinions?

It's just not that important to me.  You do the best you can to get the best you can out of your team and you can't control who you face.  It will be what it will be.  Why try to out guess the UIL - just wait until Thursday and all will be revealed.  Go work on your taxes or play nine holes or shoot some hoops.  Do something productive. ::)

I don't know that they will have to raise the number for the 4A-5A cutoff all that much.  Remember the lost in the 4A to 3A news is that Houston ISD has a few teams that will be dropping to 4A from 5A.  This coupled with a few Fort Bend ISD teams (Willowridge being among them) that did not opt up and could be dropping down to 4A will in some form make up for the teams dropping to 3A.

So numbers wise, I don't know we will see the UIL deviate from past trends.
