Tremain Hancock has left to be an assistant football coach at WOS. Wonder who Joubert will have as his assistant basketball coach?Word is Joubert could become the new AD. ;)
dawggoneit Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 yea whatever !!! this program is going to shit !! This new school board has their own hidden agenda ! And trust me they don't care about anything but softball !!!
KHSAlum400 Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 Stay tuned.... ;) :DHancock and football? ??? ??? Must be more to the story at WOS where it would prompt him to leave Kountze "basketball" for a pigskin position at WOS.

Guest baseball25 Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 tramaine and coach wilkins are best friends, this doesn't suprise me one bit!!!!!
sfajack10 Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 Hmmmm....as a Kountze alum I'll have to say this new direction seems like it's going to hit a brick wall.

He's been playing against Jason since Little Dribblers all through their days in the Southland Conference (Nicholls State, Northwestern State). I thought he would be the next guy in line once Joubert left.
dawggoneit Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 sfajack10......hit the nail on the head.......
whsalum Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 I fiGured Tremain would be the next head guy in Kountze and he may well be but they would do well to make Duane the AD.He is very familiar with all the sports and would bring a level of discipline they haven't had in some time.
KHSAlum400 Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 According to the Kountze ISD website they are looking for a Football Coach/Athletic Director. There are rumblings around Kountze that the School Board and newly-appointed Superintendent has no intention to hire Joubert as Athletic Director. Bad move on their part! There is a school board meeting scheduled for Monday. Supposedly this will be a heated meeting regarding the events that have unfolded recently within the district.

AggiesAreWe Posted July 16, 2011 Author Report Posted July 16, 2011 There has been some recent talk about who should be the new AD at Kountze. Some folks think Duane Joubert should be the AD (including me). Others say it should be a football guy. Well.......Here's some info for some folks who may not know about Duane Joubert's football background: DUANE JOUBERT (1992-95) IN THE West Texas A&M FOOTBALL RECORD BOOK (as of 7/13/11)> > Top-10 Career Records> > Pass Receptions - 3rd, 179 receptions - 1,952 yards, 14 TDs, 10.9 ypr.> > Reception Yards - 6th, 1,952 yards, 179 receptions, 14 TDs, 10.9 ypr.> > > > MISCELLANEOUS RECORDS> > Most Kickoff Returns, Career - 91, Duane Joubert, 1992-95> > Most Kickoff Return Yards, Season - 756, Duane Joubert, 1992> > Most Kickoff Return Yards, Career - 2,281, Duane Joubert, 1992-95> > Most Kickoff Return Touchdowns, Career - 3, Duane Joubert, 1992-95> > > > YEARLY STATISTICAL LEADER> > 1993> > Receiving Yards, Duane Joubert, 537> > Receiving Touchdowns, Duane Joubert, 5> > Receptions, Duane Joubert, 59> > 1995> > Receptions, Duane Joubert, 53Also, after college, Duane played professional football in the CFL with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Calgary Stampede.Duane is a football guy.
whsalum Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 Duane knows how to get the kids attention and gets them to buy in to his style.I think he would be a great fit at the AD.He probably knows more fooyball than any of the recent hires they have made.
nwbulldogfan Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 We had the same situation in NW last year with our basketball coach. Another great guy and was very successful like yours. The community stood behind him as Kountze should stand behind Coach Joubert. Football it seems overrides loyalty, respect, success, dedication, and just plain doing the right thing. These adminstrators and school boards have ther own agenda and don't care who they hurt in the process. The kids are the farthest thing from the equation, it's what they want. I can't understand how you can lose one of the most successful coaches in the state for the sake of giving a mediocre football coach some extra money. athletic Director is an administrative position anyone should be eligible for it, to me that is discrimination saying it has to be the football coach. They come in stay a couple years and try to get the bigger job, they always do.
