There has been some recent talk about who should be the new AD at Kountze. Some folks think Duane Joubert should be the AD (including me). Others say it should be a football guy. Well.......

Also, after college, Duane played professional football in the CFL with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Calgary Stampede.

Duane is a football guy.

Didn't he play for that local indoor semi-pro team that played in the Civic Center and later at Ford Park arena?

Yep.

I work with one of the Kountze 4.  Newly elected board members who are trying to clean things up.  The issue is the AD can't be fired or reasigned due to the language of his contract.....

If  Joubert wants to be the AD he should apply for the head football job. Simple enough.
[/quote]Funny thing is he could probably lead them to a playoff berth and the bball team to a state title in the same year.  :D

In your dreams. It doesn't take a "Football Coach" to be an AD. I'm sure the recent Kountze ISD administration knows that VERY well since they appointed a TRAINER to the AD position.  ::) Talk about a joke of a hire! Puh-leeze!

I just noticed that Kountze ISD website is anouncing their new AD/HD FB coach on Wednesday, July 20th!

Post a link. Then again, it would be only be right if Kountze did make a hire of this "magnitude" in such a short time frame.  ::)

Does anyone know who has interviewed?  A special meeting is called for the 20th which is exactly 10 days after posting as required by law.  The agenda states that they will hire at the meeting.  Inside job?  Super's buddy? This needed to be done quickly, but wow!

It's my understanding that 4 area coaches (2 head, 2 assistants, one of which used to be an AD/HC) along with an assistant from Lamar Consolidated and an assistant at Tatum, are interviewing today.

One has been offered, waiting on his response.

The former oc at Lamar Consolidated was talked to about this job, but has taken another position in the metroplex.  Best of luck to Kountze, they have a good supt there that will get the entire athletic program going.
