David Smallwood? Not trying to put the kid down or anything but he had the least amount of running yardage and TD's of the 3 Vidor runningbacks from last year. Can i ask why you picked him?

To be honest, I was only sure on the top 3.  I've seen Bertrand a couple of times, and I know he's legit and can eat up the clock.  I saw Livingston play Dayton last year, and I looked up some stats in DCTF.  I've never seen Vidor play, but I know the offense they run.  That being said, somebody has to get yards and not being familiar with the Pirates, I took a stab in the dark.  The last one is young, but he will need to step up for Ozen, to take the pressure off of Green.  Central's Heard is gone, so that rounds out my 5.

I think Troy Benjamin from Ned will be on this list by the end of the season. Had over 800 yards last season out of the spread. This year Coach Neumann seems to want to run more I/pro sets which will only help his numbers. I expect at least 1200 yards this season!

I've talked to a reliable contact that's an Ozen fan and have word that they have a really good running back that was a freshman last year that was held back from Varsity by the parents (not by coachs).  I trust my contact's words so...

1.The Ozen Kid (Jacoby Jones? is this him?)
2. Antonio White (Livingston)
3. Devonte Mays (Livingston)
4. Chase Bertrand (PN-G)
5. Brilon Douglas (LC-M)

I expect our offense to be much more versatile this year. When I think of a versatile offense I think of 2004. Spread, I, Pro, etc. Now that Raines has some more experience and understands the offense better I think we can expect to see a very much improved running game due to Barrows expanding our options. It'll be a much more smash mouth running style that Nederland fans are familiar with under Neumann. Looking forward to watching Raines under center with some guards and tackles pulling and blowing people up. I can hear the fight song now.....

Ya that's him.  I think he was sophomore last year, but he very well could have been a freshman.  I think he will have a break out year.
It may be a good year, but may not be 'breakout'.  I've also heard that Ozen's O-line won't be spectacular.  I think He'll be right up there numberwise to the Livingston RB's and Bertrand.  I don't think He'll be running away from the pack, though.

Not taking anything whatsoever away from Bertrand's success but how much do yall think Doty contributed to Bertrand's success since Bertrand was not the sole threat on PNG's offense last year? From previous responses it seems the line will be able to reload but is there other weapons (such as qb) to take the heat off Bertrand?

IMO, I think Bertrand's big numbers last year was directly because of how good their O-Line was.  I think Doty benifited from the running game being good, not vise-versa.  I think Bertrand's numbers will not be as good and will be looking for the passing game to help out.  This depends on how the Incomming QB does passing the rock.

Ozen just might have 2 rb's on the list by time the season over , #1 Jakobi Jones (has speed for days) and #42 Darrien Bolton (the bruiser) both saw alot of carries last year , also don't sleep on leroy jackson (2009 20-4a newcomer of the year as a freshman) he might see more carries this year cause he didnt see alot last year cause he was at Strong safety

You will see Bertrand lined up in many different formations this year. PNG has 3 other running backs who can do just as much damage. Plus the QB can tuck the ball and run. Watched him several times during 7 on 7 and he looked good.

Alex Ceaser-lcm
One of the fastest kids in the district last year as a sophmore.
4.4 right?
He he ran a 4.52. But he is very fast in track. But from what i studied from him last year he lacks the head hunting and fiercness it requires to run the ball in football. Yes he is very fast. Probably the top 3 fastest kids in 20-4A but there is a difference in track and football.

IMO i think yall are missing someone. David Bolinger from Vidor. Yes he is small and short but he has definitely put on some weight since last year and he is only faster and bigger than last year and he will definitely be the game changer for Vidor. Oh and did i forget to mention that i watched the 100 yard dash personally and Bolinger was beating Cezar till about 80 yards through. I mean with 690 yards (thats from the coaches stat book) and 4 TD's and he's faster bigger and definitely stronger as well ( he went to state powerlifting. The only guy to do so in his school). So i think he will be the break out kid of this year.
Oh
With that being said my list would be this
1. Antonio White - Livingston
2. David Bolinger - Vidor
3. Jacoby Jones - Ozen
4. Devont Mays - Livingston
5. Chase Bertrand - PNG
