Thompson is transferring from Bethany University inCalifornia, which shut down teaching operations earlier this month. Judson anNAIA school in Elgin Illinois, will be the fourth different school Thompson hassigned with since he gratuated from PN-G. The 6-foot-4 guard originally signed with East Texas Baptist University before transferring Centenary College, formerly a Division 1 school that recently transitioned to Division 2. Heredshirted there last season and eventually transferred to Bethany, also an NAIA school midways through the 2010-2011 season. Thompson is part of a four-person recruiting class for Judson head coach Tony Tompkins. "I am really looking forward to having him in our program," Tompkins said via e-mail. "He is a great shooter that will help spread the court for our play makers. He will be a great addition to our team." Thompson is no stranger to being far from home, as he traveled with Athletes in Action three years ago, touring Central America and playing games with others his age. "We played against national teams in Guatemala and El Salvador", Thompson said. Thompson has been helping his former highschool by working out with current PNG players this summer. Thompson said he's tried to show them a college work out and keep them on their toes with drills he has learned at different programs. A Dean's list schloar at Centenary, Thompson also wants to go into coaching after he graduated. "I really want to show people that basketball players from Port Neches Groves can succeed,"Thompson said.
