adminbaberuth Posted August 1, 2011 Report Posted August 1, 2011 Doesn't look good for Clay. Wish him the best.http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2011/07/there_is_concer.html
bullets13 Posted August 1, 2011 Report Posted August 1, 2011 he has a stress fracture in his back. he's been moved from the 15 to the 60-day DL, although it's retroactive to June 19th, so he might be back sooner that we think. seems really serious, but david wright just came back after only a couple of months with a stress fracture in his back, so hopefully it's not as serious as it sounds.
EAGLE07 Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 From what I've been told , it's not as serious as it sounds. Stress fractures of the back are common in pitchers....caused by repetitive (?) movements. My son had one in soph year of high school and was out 4 weeks...hasn't had a problem since, now a senior in college. Obviously, some are worse than others. Clay is a great guy......hope he has a full and quick recovery.
