BrenhamFan Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 The Brazos is an extremely dangerous river, where lots of deaths occur. There are drop offs all over the place, bad undercurrents. (especially when it's low) Not sure why people still swim there, but I fish it about once a week with throwlines, since I live 10 miles away. I personally know 2 people that have drowned there, and have heard of many more. (one was swimming and the other one was wading out to unsnag a line that was hung up) My prayers go out to this young man's family. Very sad.
mustangproud Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Sad. I don't know why people always want to jump in the river. Any river is very dangerous. Like someone said there are a lot of dropoffs and undercurrents that even the best swimmers can't overcome.
Jackthehammer Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 The fb player has been recovered from the river. Prayers to his family.
JARobinson Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Prayers going out to this young mans loved ones.
incognito Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Heartfelt condolences to the family of this young man. May God give them the strength to bear this grief.
liltex Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 Some folks I know think all the facts seem suspicious since the victim was a very strong swimmer and details they said don't add up according to the kids father.Hope it was an accident for real and prayers to the families in mourning.
Guest octfeb Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 Even the best of swimmers can drown. It's a very sad outcome. I pray the Lord will keep and protect the family, give them strength and understanding. Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.
