Michael Shaw, remember that name, hasn't caught a varsity pass in a real game... but kid has jets and hands, he will raise some eyebrows this year.  He's a legit sub 4.5 40 guy.

he's a junior this year, heck I don't know, I think he cut 5 10th's off is 40 time, don't care about last year.  Maybe cuz he played same positions as Salenga and Sonnier?  I'm talking about this year, just watch.
So your saying he went from 5.0 speed to 4.5?  ::)
He went from low 4.6 to low to mid 4.4.
So you're telling me this kid has better speed than Anquan Boldin, A.J. Green, Larry Fitzgerald, Donald Driver, Brad Smith, Brandon Marshall, Dwayne Bowe and many other NFL wide receivers? Give me a break. Do people realize how fast 4.4 speed is? Give me a break with all these stopwatch times of 4.4.
Agreed, tired of all these people saying there kids ran a 4.4 but no one has ever heard of them, It is possible of course, but if you run a 4.4 while in high school then we would know your name because your stats would be recognizable, only person I hear at least in 22-3A that they say runs a 4.4 is Sherman Gilbert RB Coldspring who rushed for 2000 yards and 20 touchdowns missing 4 games and playing for a state championship and I still can't say he runs a legit 4.4 because I've seen him beat on the track against guys running high 4.5's so you never know.

Exactly, go get laser timed and when you go from being a 4.4 guy to a 4.7 guy then you can be shocked. Also, if a player was a 4.4 guy I'm pretty sure coaches would find a way to get him on the field

40 times are over rated I.M.O. Shaw is very fast and shifty! He gets to top speed quickly. You would have a hard time catching him in a phone booth.I look for big things from him this year!

most schools around here don't have the benefit of laser times so take the times for what they are worth...if you hand time NFL guys, they are probably in the 4.1 range...I was simply clarifying what the improvement was from one year to the next under the same circumstances since it came up earlier...nothing more, nothing less...geez, some people make a big deal out of the simplest things!

...and give me a break on guys who come on here and assume that anyone is saying that any kid in this area is as fast as an NFL guy..it should be pretty easy to understand that the timing criteria are different (and irrelevant for that matter)...you are simply putting words into peoples mouths...

Like I said before, Alex Cezar from LCM ran a LEGIT LAZER TIME 4.4 at the State track and field meet his Sophomore year.

I'm pretty sure Shaw is faster than Boldin and Fitzgerald... course he don't bench 350 and slap db's around either.  I would love to see he and Jim Furyk in that phone booth, I think he comes out unscathed as well.

Fact is, there are several kids from this area who are faster than these two guys, they are not fast as receivers go.  Fitz is actually pretty slow.

just saying...speed does not make you a great reciever...thats been shown plenty of times...can we get names of proven recievers! not just how fast they are..

not being rude just saying

There is a kid from Lumberton who is going to turn some heads. I think he was number 24 or number 8 last year...With Lumberton running a new offense I think he will be utilized as a running back as well this year. He is just a well rounded athlete..

i'm pretty sure there are kids that are fastest than some nfl players.. last time i checked speed alone doesn't qualify you to make the nfl.. if that was the case usain bolt would be a hall of famer.. not everyone runs a 5 flat just because they're still in h/s... wow

Jayce Nelson (PN-G)- 74 catches, 1123 yds and 12 TD in 2010
These numbers speak for themselves. I also think there is a darkhouse in Seales (6'2 190 lbs) from Port Arthur kid was little used last year due to K. Weasley but he should be able to shine this yr

Jalen Malone West Brook 3 yr starter...
I don't think Malone was a 3 year starter.  Now, I believe he got playing time as a freshman and started last year.  I think He's more like a 2 year starter.
