Michael Shaw, remember that name, hasn't caught a varsity pass in a real game... but kid has jets and hands, he will raise some eyebrows this year.  He's a legit sub 4.5 40 guy.

he's a junior this year, heck I don't know, I think he cut 5 10th's off is 40 time, don't care about last year.  Maybe cuz he played same positions as Salenga and Sonnier?  I'm talking about this year, just watch.
So your saying he went from 5.0 speed to 4.5?  ::)
He went from low 4.6 to low to mid 4.4.
So you're telling me this kid has better speed than Anquan Boldin, A.J. Green, Larry Fitzgerald, Donald Driver, Brad Smith, Brandon Marshall, Dwayne Bowe and many other NFL wide receivers? Give me a break. Do people realize how fast 4.4 speed is? Give me a break with all these stopwatch times of 4.4.
Agreed, tired of all these people saying there kids ran a 4.4 but no one has ever heard of them, It is possible of course, but if you run a 4.4 while in high school then we would know your name because your stats would be recognizable, only person I hear at least in 22-3A that they say runs a 4.4 is Sherman Gilbert RB Coldspring who rushed for 2000 yards and 20 touchdowns missing 4 games and playing for a state championship and I still can't say he runs a legit 4.4 because I've seen him beat on the track against guys running high 4.5's so you never know.
Like I said before, Alex Cezar from LCM ran a LEGIT LAZER TIME 4.4 at the State track and field meet his Sophomore year.
I didnt know that they ran the 40 at track and field meets but maybe they put a laser timer at 40yds. That would still be on a track with spikes and running out of blocks. If anyone runs a low 4.4 they should be playing for the Raiders in a few years. Heck, I think I read somewhere that Usain Bolt ran  a 3.7 on a track.

If the question was who is going to put up the best stats this year at wide receiver then I would agree with Jayce Nelson because of the system that they run.  I'll go back to Jaevon Richardson and Nick Schrapps.  Both scout and rivals would agree.  I would also add Nate holmes.  This is not meant to take anything away from Jayce Nelson.

Gotta go with Jayce Nelson for PNG kid is fearless and and has a knack of making some really sick one handed catches, he looked good in the pam scrimmage and was a 1 man scoring machine last night. Pretty sure they will start double teaming him here in the near future which will open doors for some other receivers to shine.

May want to put Michael Shaw from Nederland on this list. He caught 6 balls for 73 yds and 2 TDs in his 1st Varsity game against a strong WO-S opponent.

Not being rude...but not quite

You may not agree that he is THE best, but I understand why he got a mention from NHS1990. Scoring 2 TDs against one of the best programs in the area shows that he has potential to be one of the best WRs in the area. Maybe that's what 1990 was saying. Will have to wait a few more games to see if he is for real.

It was his first varsity game, he shouldnt even be in the discussion. Receivers like Richardson, Nelson, Schrapps and Jones have all been playing varsity football for several years and are proven commodities.

IMO having stats like that in his first game on varsity and against a good WOS chain gang defense gives him enough president to be in a conversation like this.  But thats just my opinon.

Turk and Drake in Silsbee are a good one two punch. Turk had 192 total yards including a rushing TD and punt return TD. Think he also had. Long kick off return. Garrett Drake had spectacular TD catch from Reed as well.
Yes he ran the opening kickoff for about 60 or 70
