BADSANTA Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 I think Jasper reminds me the most. When the game starts, the only thing thats open in Dairy Queen and the police station.

rykerx144 Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 I would agree PNG! definetly although its still no MOJO. I was very fortunate to be able to experience MOJO first hand and be small part of it. That experience is what has fueled my love for High School Football. I grew up about an hour outside of Odessa, just inside New Mexico. I attended several games from the era of 85 till about 91. Although we was an hour away, in another state, in a town of about 2000 people when friday night came the town was empty. Although, our mascots was the cardinal and school colors red and white, the community had a bus painted black and white that was only used to make the trips back in forth to Odessa. Im not sure if it was my age that influences the experience or if it was just that amazing but have not seen anything locally or since that comes close to being able to compare to what was going on in Odessa.
pinelandflash Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 All of Sabine County shuts down for the WS/Hemphill game! I've seen people that I thought were long-dead at this game each year!
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 For our area it's png. Statewide its hands down Odessa. One word---MOJO!
WOSgrad Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Well, I guess Odessa would most remind y'all of the movie "Friday Night Lights" when the movie was set in, well, Odessa. LOL!

pngfan66 Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 PNG then Nederland and Dayton. Stephenville as well is rowdy and has a good following.
Alpha Wolf Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 PN-G hands down around here. Also the one year Central played Brenham in the playoffs believes me to think that they may be like that.
Bigdog Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Nederland and PNG. Both towns shut down on Friday nights, especially during the playoffs!
