Why is it that some parents feel they have the rite to be on the field during practice and pull coaches aside to bs? I guess to make sure little Johnny gets a position.jmo my goodness... ??? ???

Not so! I see more parents more involved with "little Johnny" and bonding with the coaches. Usually its because the kid lacks skill to get more playing time.

Yeah...usually I was the only parent on the field....but I love football...always wanted to be a coach...as for my "lil Johnny" 2 - time District MVP....that was earned by him on the field...had nothing to do with me...I spoke to a coach, if a coach spoke to me....

I know parents and seen parents who make sure the coach see them on the side if their kid is not playing. Wearing their "why my kid not playing."

Right now I watch most of my kids practices and no my kids are not starting. I watch so I can see their strengths and weaknesses so I know what they can work on to get on the field. Plus, I love watching football. I say nothing during practice to them even if they walk by and I say nothing to the coaches during practice. Not my place to interupt them. I even asked the coach if it was Ok for me to be there and got permission. What harm is it? I fully support my boys, their team, and their coach. IF they are never good enough to start so be it as long as they want to play I will be there to support them.

That being said I DO have a problem with parents who walk up to talk to their kids during a practice (especially on the field). I think that is very disrespectful to the coaches.

If the coach didn't want the parent there,  he wouldn't be.  Alot of the area coaches have some of the youth coaches come out to practice so they can show them a few things also.

I already got the plane ticket for the first game...I'm gonna get there a couple of days early and go on the field to see if he can start... ;D
