BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 In lineman drills, both D-Lines dominated the O-Lines.In 7 on 7, I'd give a slight edge to us.
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 In drills, both QB's were too predictable and stared at one receiver. (Westwood especially)Live portion bout to start.
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Nvm, it's not live... (start @ the 30 and try to go 70 yards)Westwood gets to the Cub 30, then turnover on downs.Cubs fumble second play, but recover. Cubs driving.
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 After 3rd & 3, Malcolm Brown rushes for a 1st down. 23yd TD pass Cubs69 yd pass for Westwood. 1 yd TD run.
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 2nd team-Westwood starts on offense this time, and goes 3 and out.2nd team-Cubs goes 3 and out.Cubs drive to the Westwood 20, then stall.
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Kicking, I'd give Brenham the edge.Back to running plays.
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Green hasn't missed a step at LB.Westwood drives to the Cub 32, then stalls.
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 New HB looks good for Brenham.
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 On 2nd team, both offenses have dominated the defenses.
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Live portion starting. (except for kickoffs) 15 min halves I believe.
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Brenham drive to their own 45, before punting. 12:06 left
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Westwood nearly goes 3 and out with the no huddle offense, but picks up 23 yards on a fake punt to keep the drive alive.Westwood punts from it's own 48.9:10 left
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Brenham goes 3 and out, and punts from it's on 29. 6:47 left
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Westwood drives to their own 48, before punting.5:20Brenham starts at the 2.
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Brenham goes 3 and out.4:04 left(each team has had a huge hit on the other)
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Westwood talking a lot of smack.Westwood punts from it's own 41.1:21
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Brenham drives to the Westwood 39, but time expires.FinalWestwood 0Brenham 0
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Both offenses need work. Defenses dominated this scrimmage.
BrenhamFan Posted August 19, 2011 Author Report Posted August 19, 2011 Our offense better improve, cuz our defense can only take us so far. :-\
liltex Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 Twice you gave the Cubs the edge then Westwood scores before the live action starts and ends in a scoreless affair,so what's the final tally w/o any homerism.Scrimmage smack it's usually a 2 sided coin.We know Brenham talked smack all game when we played ya'll.Sounds to me like Westwood thought they were better overall today 8)

The only passes we completed were wheel routes & screens. O-line needs to give the QB more time to throw.)Westwood Offense: C+ (They lost yards on most of their plays. The yards they did get, were on broken plays, with the QB running for his life, but making things happen. He was good at throwing on the run. The WR's got a step or 2 on the secondary, but dropped most of the balls.)Brenham Defense: A- (Gave up 2 big plays, but tallied up sack after sack. *One big play we gave up was a fake punt from inside their own 20. Secondary needs improvment, but the D-Line and LB's were great.)Westwood Defense: A- (Kept us on our side of the field, most of the time. Brenham's 2 min offense did drive down to the Westwood 39, but ran out of time.)Brenham Special Teams: B+ (Good kicking & excellent punting, especially considering it was from deep in our own territory most of the time.)Westwood Special Teams: A- (they couldn't kick at all, but were great on returns. I would say B+, but they dominated the field position battle, so I'm gonna say A-)Both teams scored once while running plays, but the 15 minute live portion was scoreless.Brenham's play book was very limited cuz of the horrible field position they had. The Westwood defense was very stingy. Both teams had huge hits on the other. (helmets were flying) Westwood was talking trash, but it was after late hits though, while Brenham did it after legal hits. (Bobby, we also have a playoff atmosphere when we play y'all. Alot different than a scrimmage) The teams looked pretty even. Like last week we gave up to many long runs by the QB. I will say this though.... Brenham didn't look like the #6 team in the state! We need to improve, or we might not win this district.
