Is there any stats from this game, there had to be close to 40 penalties! Although it was a win that was a very sloppy game.

That game was ugly.
[/quote]

and that's an understatement!

One of the most sloppy games I have ever seen. 30 penalties, 10 turnovers, 26 incompletions, players cramping up, resulted is us having a 4 hour broadcast. 30 minute pregame, 3 hour and 15 minute game, 15 minute post game. That is much much too long!

I thought Silsbee's defense played very well other than on 3-4 plays. The Tiger offense on the other hand, has a lot to work on!

One play 6.......6 players came to the sideline. 6 on their backs with the legs up. Mass confusion for the next play.  Coaches screaming players names.....nope not me! Next!  Nope not me! I laughed on that one.  ;D

I know exactly what play you are talking about. It was Turk's 60 yard punt return for a TD. When he reached the endzone, players were sprawled all over the place. Looked like a bomb went off! Silsbee was scraambling around trying to find players just to send out for the extra point attempt. Kicker, down (he laid the block that freed Turk on the return), Turk was gassed so he couldn't run the wildcat for the two point conversion, among others who were on the sidelines like you said, with their legs up in the air. The coaches had to send Spearman out to play QB in the wildcat, resulting in a failed two point attempt. It was mass kaos!!

Tim and I were laughing up in the broadcast booth! ;D

One hot and long night. Way to many penalties. I know it's the first game of the season and you would expect a few but not 30 or more. Waltrip is huge on the offense and defense line. There defense will blitze you 99.9% of the time and it will come from every were and any were. On offense there QB was not bad and he had some big tall WR's to throw to.  But the guy that stood out for Waltrip was Shaquille Ashton #4.  He had 92 yards and a TD receving and 36 yards rushing, that's 128 total yards and there only TD. And this guy is just a Soph.! As for Silsbee, although it was a lopsided win there are plenty of things to improve on. Like penalties. There were 5 of 6 balls batted down at the line of scrimmage and we let 2 or 3 balls go through our hands. Get these guys timing down and they could be really good. The offensive line is there. Was able to open some holes for the run. Now for the defense, not to bad. Did well against the run, got plenty of pressure on the QB and the young DB's did more than held there own against there big tall WR's. Man, our coaches will have alot to say to our players even though we won. Go Tigers!!!

I don't live all that far from Waltrip.  I don't think athletics is a priority there, at least not in football.  HISD schools have so many issues to contend with these days: budget restraints, all the better student athletes go to private schools or better public schools.  The football program gets what's left.

Don't get it twisted though, I'm a Silsbee Tigers fan.
