Nederland Dog 2006 Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 Well, according to Dave Campbell Texas Football WOS was ranked number 7 in 3A I believe? What does this mean for the Dogs? Coming back and beating this team that was by far bigger and quicker than we were. Dunno. I dont know really what to make of this Nederland team yet. We looked pretty good that 4th quarter, though.
skipper Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 the game with wo-s was a BIG LIFT for the nederland kids and there coaching staff and from what i saw the kids wanted this game very bad and thay got it,i am hopeing for you there at nederland the best this year
Nederland Dog 2006 Posted August 29, 2011 Author Report Posted August 29, 2011 Yes sir. I believe we wanted that game more, but what really, in my opionion, seemed to be the deal with that game, we wore WOS out. We were in better shape. They were more fatigued than we were at the end.
LB76 Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 You are right Skip, it had to be a lift for the Dogs to win over an always tough WO-S team. The way the teams fought it out, it will probably be a big learning factor for both teams. We need more games like that one that go right down to the wire. Good luck to both teams this year.....
skipper Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 i am sorry nederland dod 2006 i dont buy that at all in NO WAY .wo-s was NOT tired thay just lost end of the story
Nederland Dog 2006 Posted August 29, 2011 Author Report Posted August 29, 2011 Well, I mean it just seemed like we wore them out. But either way both teams played won heelofagame. and for us to beat one of the top teams in 3a thats says alot.
skipper Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 its never a good feeling to lose but loseing to nederland i can live with it becouse thay have one of the better coaching staff and fan support and after friday night KIDS THAT NEVER GAVE UP and thats a winner in my book
Honest Abe Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 Wouldn't read into it too much. Great game, great win for the Dogs, but we must stay hungry week to week. Rankings don't mean a whole lot IMO, especially this early in the season. Does look like we have great potential to make a deep run though!
Gtj007 Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Not sure if I agree with the part about WOS being bigger? Now faster, YES!!!!!!
77 Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Nederland has some hosses up front on both sides of the ball!
tvc184 Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 It means that Nederland is 1-0 and needs to make some improvements if they are going to make a run at the playoffs.Good job in the comeback but a season it doesn't make.

[/quote]Agreed. I have seen a season go both ways after a big non-district win. There are still quite a bit of things to work on. The heart shown by Ned is something to build on along with some other pluses.
asary Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Nederland beat WOS.....what does this mean? It means you have another game Friday night, better quit looking backwards and start looking forward. Keep it up!
GUNHO Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Gives your team a lift coming back the way they did.Bragging rights. That's about all.
Txdragon Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Nederland is definately bigger up front than the Mustangs, as far as wearing us down I really don't think conditioning was the problem. Bulldogs should have been able to wear us down as they have many more kids on their varsity than we do and we ahve several kids playing both ways due to sheer numbers. I just don't think that they did. Nederland is a good team and should be playoff bound. Bulldogs just got the big plays when they needed it. From a Mustang perceptive the 'Dogs HAVE to run the ball better but not many teams will cover their outside receivers one on one most of the night like we did. I was impressed with their defense the second half against the run but I thought the secondary was a little iffy and the Mustangs really didn't take full advantage of it. They will be ok against power teams but speed teams should continue to give them problems. They should go at least one or two rounds in playoffs in my opinion and I hope they go further.
akifan94 Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Ned is going to win it all. Book it. My friend told me this is the best team Larry has had. Nobody in district stands a chance.
cornhusker Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 aikfan 94 that would be nice. Yes it was big for the football program to beat the Stangs. Hardly ever happens but it was a big plus. You have to be great and lucky. The Dogs have to get by some very good teams and win 5 or 6 games in a row buddy.
Razor Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Nah, husker...he is just a sarcastic indian fan...lol

liltex Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 My answer to the topic is I don't have a clue how it works in fb.I heard if groundhog sees his shadow in feb.we have 6 more weeks of basketball ;D
baddog Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 I don't care for any state ranking.....not that we even deserve one yet. I want an outright district championship for Neumann. No one deserves one more than he does.

Nederland Dog 2006 Posted August 30, 2011 Author Report Posted August 30, 2011 No he does not. He has one or two co district titles.
dawgnut Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 If size makes a difference then this is by far the biggest team that we have had, but talent wise that is to be seen. Neumann has been able to get a lot from his players over the years so we really will not know till the end of the season after all he has had a team that went 9 and 1 and one that played in the semi-finals.
asary Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 Well, with 18 or 20 years without an outright district championship, can this be the year??!! Nederland football deserves one.
