Gas did you mean this has been blacked out since he reentered the six grade or did it happen over the summer?
I will say that it was legible enough to know it was either/or for the year. And, "black out" is not an accurate description. They knew when it needed to be addressed and it was. There was no wrong doing by anyone from the district, past or present. They were on top of it and they handled it, plain and simple. All of you folks wanting an investigation need to go see the DA. There is NOTHING for WOCCISD to investigate.
I am not sure I understand what you mean by "they knew when it needed to be addressed"? I was understood that Cornell only found out about it last week. If you say "they knew", well shouldn't this been addressed even before two-a-days?
The people that watch that stuff, I don't know what you call them. They brought it to his (Cornels) attention. School is not in during two-a-days, is it? Again, what differnce does it make, AAW?
I just didn't understand what you were stating with the "they knew" comment. Now I understand. But, I would think whoever found this would not hesitate to tell Cornell so that he could address this as quickly as possible. Can't imagine "they" would wait till the week of the regular season to "spring" this on Coach Thompson.

BTW, school staff are at work during two-a-days, just not students.
OK, I gotcha, I can't say that I don't disagree with the timing thing, but the bottom line is it was addressed before they played.

JT went through that grueling 2 a days and isn't even going to play... It will make him better in the spring, though.

Yes, Thomas went through 2-a-days, but I still say JT also knew he was too old to play and looks as though was willing to risk WOS football season. But I could be very wrong about that.

That was NEVER done at WO-S.  In fact, no allegation was ever even made, that is until you just made it.

I find it laughable that after any WO-S loss, any Mustang supporter who mentions anything other the opposing side was the better team (and in actuality, I recall most Mustang supporters doing exactly that) with regard to the outcome of the game is branded as being an excuse maker.  Yet, instead of giving credit for the Mustang victories to the fact that much more often than not the Mustangs were the better team, it seems to be open season for excuses:  Hooks paid off refs, WO-S recruits, etc.

Well if Cornel believes he really thought he was 18, then I believe cornel thinks that he thought he was 18. I know Cornel, I'm just glad that he went further with it and required a BC. As for JT, he's young and you don't know what has gone on with him, so I am not going to pass judgement. I will save that for the numerous haters, there ill be plenty of it to go around.

Ive been asking this question for a week now and I dont understand why it cant get answered.  Was or Is he hurt?  Did he not play because he was injured or because of the investigation into his age?  Just curious?

As long as the school did the right thing why are you concerned with what the parents did? Is it going to change anything at all? Will it make you feel better? I guess I just don't have that need to know. My concern is and was that the school did the right thing. That happened.

WOS did the right thing and there was no harm done as the kid didn't play in any games once ineligible...I think it's time to put this one to bed and wish him well in his future at Utah...he is obviously a very talented player

I agree 100% the school and Coach T did the right thing!! Yall keep alluding to that but I dont see that as the issue.  I think the issue is not whether or not it got caught it is how did it happen?

The school did right (Cornell acted correctly as soon as he knew). It bothers me that a set of parents and student SEEM to have been willing to risk the season and run the risk of disappointing many other students who have all worked hard themselves and are eligible.
skipper, how old were you when you graduated?

Not sure what you mean by your last statement.

I mean if I'm in his shoes, I would fill shame that it's being said I'm a 20 year old in High School. He is too old to play sports and wil be 21 going to college as a freshman. sounds like this is a private matter that is being discussed out open forum.

Why is a 20 year old in High School? That's not a good look to have his business out here like this.

I bet if this woldnt have been caught until the 2nd round of the playoffs and all of WOS after winning round 1 was sitting home debating this it would be so innocent or private of a matter.  Sounds to me like it was only found after Coach T was double checking some things and happen to discover it.  I mean it was after week zero it was found.  Sound like he could have just a easily not done the double check and it could have not been discovered.  I understand the praise for finding it and getting it resolved I dont under the lack of concerns as to how easily it could have not been discovered.

I may be wrong but I believe it was found before Week 0.  JT was not on the field during the Nederland game nor did I see him on the sideline.

That is correct.  He was not even dressed for the Nederland game.

I've read the arguments from all sides. I've dealt with hundreds of kids over lots of years. I don't remember any not knowing how old they were but I suppose this is in the realm of possibility. I will say that I have seen birth records altered by players or parents and possibly program officials. I'm certainly not saying any of these things happened in this case or in this area. The thing that has always perplexed me is being dishonest to achieve an edge over the competition, whether it is an opponent or your own teammates, and winning as a result of that action, is something that couldn't be so satisfying as to justify that action. Pride in accomplishment comes from within and knowing you have excelled in your endeavors. All successful sports programs have their fans and detractors. Nothing is so satisfying as winning the right way. Knowledge, diligence, teamwork and labor are what winning is all about. I suggest putting this incident behind and if intentional wrongdoing was involved, then I feel ashamed for those or the one responsible. Best of luck to all our athletes in the coming season and pray we don't have the heartache of last year with WO-S #12. When the dust has cleared and champions declared never question whether you earned it. If you didn't then it wasn't worth the effort.
