footballmamma Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 West Sabine or Cayuga - any predictions?
RETIREDFAN1 Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 Common Opponent: Cayuga 40 Colmesneil 28 West Sabine 50 Colmesneil 6 Cayuga is a very young team with few seniors. They have a lot of freshmen starting in key positions. I'm going with West Sabine BIG in this one.......
Bulldog_467 Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Game will not be the blow out some people think. Cayuga coach plays second string more than most coaches once they get a lead. Cayuga was winning the Colmesneil game 28 to 0 at half time.
footballmamma Posted November 19, 2006 Author Report Posted November 19, 2006 I here they have a freshman that rushed for over 1,000 yards this year.
RETIREDFAN1 Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 This game will be a complete blowout. Cayuga has a little speed, but can't come close to matching West Sabine. I"ll be sure to remind you of that Saturday night, Bulldog_467.
footballmamma Posted November 19, 2006 Author Report Posted November 19, 2006 So what your saying is that freshman HB who rushed for over 1,000 yards crawled his way for over 1,000 yards or he just got lucky?
RETIREDFAN1 Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 Regular season success is irrelevant in the playoffs. He is a freshman. He will handle the playoffs like any freshman. The only team that Cayuga has played this year with more speed than West Sabine is Alto. We all know how that one turned out. West Sabine will dominate this game from the opening kick.
UGAHOOPZ Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 This will not be a blowout.... last time i checked anything can happen don't you think? Just ask the Gilmer Buckeyes! Anyways Colmesneil wasn't all that great anyways from what i saw that night they let a bunch of "freshmen" run all over them.. and besides who can beat Alto? Colmesneil? ummmmm noooo... we did have 150 rushing yards against Alto compared to Grapeland's (-75) but of course we didnt win.... I think this game should be pretty good..... prolly would take West Sabine because tha BYE will hurt us i believe... but who knows any given friday anything can happen predictions are predictions not always wrong but not always right.. Good Luck to both teams....
Guest Diva Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 Just an FYI...since WS is a DETX team, there is a thread regarding this playoff game posted at our partner site DETX sports. Be sure to make your predictions over there as well. http://www.deepeasttexassports.com/forum/index.php
RETIREDFAN1 Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 I might just go to THIS game to see West Sabine kick the snot out of Cayuga. It definitely won't be one of the best games of the weekend....
footballmamma Posted November 21, 2006 Author Report Posted November 21, 2006 I guess we'll see who's 'snottin' Saturday evening. 8)
UGAHOOPZ Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Yea we will see... Colmesneilfan been hating all day....... He had tha nerve to say our coaches and players "stole their plays" from them.. how lame? Honestly.....
RETIREDFAN1 Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 You won't be picking up West Sabine's signals over your headsets....I don't think it would help anyway......
UGAHOOPZ Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I have the greatest idea Colmesneilfan. When the next realignment rollz around maybe the UIL could put Colmesneil, Chester, Sabine Pass, Oakwood, and Karnack in the same district. Maybe u guys would finally be considered "winners"
RETIREDFAN1 Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I would have settled for remaining in the district we have always been in. We would have qualified for the playoffs in that one......
DesertStorm Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I have seen both teams play and if West Sabine can hang on to the ball(they haven't done that very well) this will not be a very close game. Both running backs and the qb are extremely fast. Groveton, Grapeland, and Lovelady had their hands full with those 3, if not for turnovers they had a chance in all 3 games. Without turnovers I'll say WS-35 Cayuga-14, but the turnovers are one of the reasons we play. If Cayuga plays hard and can force some turnovers, it can be a good game.
RETIREDFAN1 Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Welcome to SETX, DesertStorm. I hope you keep visiting after the season.....
