PoppaBearstarr Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 I like it...I agree with all but TWO. But I think you nailed it. Let me help you with one of the two,,,, BEST OFFICIAL.........OLD REF ;D
PoppaBearstarr Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 We are truly going to miss you, The chapter is in a better place with you in it.
AggiesAreWe Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 Love that line from Jason Henry!!!!LMAO!!!I will have to ask him about that when I see him.
ForeverADog Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 Oldref, just a couple of random, curious, and fun questions I like to ask referees that I talk to. 1. How many coaches have you ejected?2. How many calls have you got wrong? (every official has a different answer)3. Worst game you ever officiated? As far as level of play in the game. 4. Best tournament hospitality room and what food did they have?
OLDREF Posted September 15, 2011 Author Report Posted September 15, 2011 POPPA.......Thanks for the kind thoughts......You and Bleed orange have always kept me entertained and i will miss that after I leave here. I hope that one day you will come up and introduce yourself to me. It will probably not be at an HJ game since the two groups don't seem likely to setlle thier differences. What a shame. The two chapters together are very good. The two chapters apart are very average....LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOUJoe whitted
OLDREF Posted September 15, 2011 Author Report Posted September 15, 2011 ForeverADOG.............Sorry to just now be getting back to your quesstions. I have been gone on business and away from the computer..But here Goes!1) I have never ejected a coach. I have only given 5 tees to coaches in 17 years....Am I proud of that ....Not really..just always thought if i had to tee a coach up I probably did something to trigger it....2) AS FAR AS MISSING CALLS....every official has good and bad nights..I am no different...I will say I have never called a perfect game...no one has ...I think I get about 90 per cent correct3) WORST GAME-BOYS HAMSHIRE-F VS HUFFMAN....The kids were ugly to each other...we could not get anything right...which made the kids more hostile..just a tough game..BOTTOM LINE...I take the blame for the kids being bad, because my partner and I were out of sinc.4) TOP FIVE BEST HOSPITALITY ROOMS FOR TOURNAMENTS 1....west hardin....best gumbo in southeast texas 2....orangefield.....best gumbo in orange county 3.....Evadale.........best homemade goodies 4......Nederland.....excellent bar-b-que 5......memorial....great ribsthanks for the questions!!!! i hope I have provided some insight

I think we ordered the Hardin County sherriff's dept. to deny you access to the town of Kountze for a year or two after that game.
OLDREF Posted September 16, 2011 Author Report Posted September 16, 2011 WELL................Full Nelson if you look at what ForeverADog's question it states...Which game was worse as far as level of play. It did not say which game I CALLED MY WORST GAME.....I was trying to keep this in superlatives......The game your talking about was with Chip Johnson and it goes down as one of my favorite games ever....I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.....

OLDREF Posted September 16, 2011 Author Report Posted September 16, 2011 Sorry Pods.............I don't know what you have against Mickey, but that is one on which I will stand firm. If you spent as much time praising people as you did cutting them down you might be a lot happier.
