Crosby pretty much ran it down their throats tonight. Didn't attempt more than 15 passes. PN-G is pretty dang physical so it was pleasantly surprising how the Cougars just kept pounding the rock.

You say PNG wasn't soft and then ya'll turn around and say that you ran it down the NDNS throat. Last week ya'll got blown out by Montgomery. I will give some credit to Crosby for playing hard, but I do think PNG D is played soft as well from what I heard on the radio. PNG couldn't stop Crosby in the second half.

PN-G is physical, but Crosby was more physical. 360+ yards on 50 carries qualifies for running it down anyone's throat.

I don't disagree with you, but if a defense gives up 360 yards on the ground then I say thier soft period. If Crosby was so stout then why couldn't they hang last week with a good team like Montgomery. I said tonight was a combination of Crosby playing good and PNG D being soft. Congrats on the win.

1 word. Turnovers. 3 in a row followed by 3 straight td's and anyone gets buried. If your fascinated with calling UR defense soft, by all means go ahead. I know the Cougs where putting hats on hats and ran the ball well. Just enough passes to force PNG to not stack the box with 9.

Crosby had 5 or 6 turnovers last week and was down 35-0. Then by end of 3rd qtr or so it was 42-28. Montgomery beat the hell out of a really solid 5A Spring team tonight.

Crosby wore away uni's because last years seniors stole the home jerseys & the new ones haven't come in.
[/quote]
Every other year they get new jerseys and it alternates. New Homes this year, Aways next year. After two years of using them, they get ripped up, etc. Not buying the story about all of them getting stolen. Don't some teams let seniors keep their outgoing jersey, if new ones are being ordered?

is bertrand healthy?kid was hard to stop last yr.

Not sure, but I was at the first game and he wasn't running like he did last year.

Alot of that had to do with him having huge holes to run through last year. Its not as easy when you have to work for it.

    • I will say this, a 100% healthy Silsbee team probably doesn't lose by 32. They would still lose to Hitchcock. Those 4-5 missing pieces last night really showed itself. Tigers get a bye week and will definitely need it going into Hamshire-Fannett. Secondary will have to play better in that game.
    • I'm going to need @bullets13 to come in here and explain how Hitchcock is not 32 points better than Silsbee. He needs to give us the "what if's" and show how these two teams are much closer and the game was much closer than what the score showed. I just don't have that skill set to explain those type things. LOL
    • This is pretty spot on… but hey… I would’ve loved to have Rigdon in Bellville 😂😂 But regardless Bellville will be fine in district moving forward and won’t see a team of the caliber that they played in non district till the 3rd or 4th round honestly.. I think region 3 is a bit down overall this season. I did think the Bellville offense played better this week than they did vs Hitchcock. Either way getting to play teams in back to back weeks with D1 QBs and athletes only helps them
    • BC should’ve won 42-0. The muffed punt and at least two obvious missed PI calls kept it at 28.
    • Rigdon makes Columbus extremely dangerous on offense.  Very tough runner that waits and then puts his foot in the ground and turns up field.  Ran through tackles.  QB Schobel was as advertised, but LB Schobel was the MVP in my opinion.  Columbus DL did what Celina did and got under the Bellville OL and cut them to create traffic in the interior and slow those plays down.  It doesnt help that Bellville does not look clean in the backfield: running into each other, almost fumbling numerous times on handoffs.  The loss of Hood to give a break for Murray is evident.  Bellville's busts in the secondary were brutal.  Its not like the DB was outran, they just weren't in position to make plays.   Pretty interesting strategy by Columbus by adding coaches with Varsity kids (and one with D1 offers to the roster for this run with the Schobels.
